The Communications Division operates a 24-hour-a-day, 365-day-a-year statewide emergency communications system, which includes eight centers. The division provides emergency dispatch services for the Washington State Patrol, and 18 other State, Federal, and Tribal Agencies on contract basis including Department of Fish and Wildlife, Washington State Liquor & Cannabis Board, State Parks, U.S. Marshal and Muckleshoot Tribal Police.
As first responders, Communications Officers provide the best in emergency 9-1-1 and dispatch services, supporting officer and public safety 24 hours a day. Additional to that workload is the requirement for responsiveness to public disclosure requests. Reporting to the Assistant Division Commander, the Forms and Records Analyst 2 will consistently improve processes to fairly and accurately provide requested records in an efficient and timely manner, and ensure the maintenance, management, and security of WSP records in accordance with statutory requirements. This position completes public disclosure requests on behalf of the seven District Communications Centers and the Communications Training Academy using the latest technology to pull requested phone and radio audio via the NICE Logging System. It may manage other forms of public disclosures for the district communications centers, including email, electronic and paper records, and Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) Logs.
Our new teammate will be able to:
Receives public records requests, assists requestor in defining the scope of records requested, completes telephone recordings and radio traffic requests, identifies and redacts information exempt from disclosure, provides records to requestor, and retains records related to requests in accordance with records retention requirements.
Accurately enters disclosure related information into a computer database.
Accurately extracts data and redacts utilizing Adobe Acrobat, Motorola Premier One CAD, CAD reporting, Audacity, and Windows based programs such as Microsoft Excel, Outlook etc.
Utilize the computer software programs, NICE, VLC Media and Audacity to extract data and redact.
Required Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent
Two years of clerical experience
