Your Role:

Your responsibilities will involve inspecting, repairing, replacing, adjusting and maintaining the glass forming machines and related equipment involving highly skilled work.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Inspects glass forming machines and miscellaneous factor operating machines and related parts and components.

  • Determines the cause of breakdown or required repairs, reconditioning or replacements.

  • Lays out work, makes setups and operates shop equipment and machine tools to repair or make the required parts.

  • Makes line repairs and adjustments to glass forming machines.

Reporting Relationships:

You will report to the Machine Repair General Foreman or Machine or Mold Repair Foreman.

Position Requirements:

About You:

  • Must be able to pass a mechanical skills test in order to be considered.

  • Individuals must possess a current Journeyman's card and or have 5 years of minimum industrial mechanical experience.

  • High School Graduate or GED.

  • Must be able to lift 40 lbs. on a regular basis.

  • Must be able to work a rotating schedule, with weekend and holiday requirements.

Job Summary for Posting Job Title: Manager, Production Department: Production Reports To: Director, Production Operations Job Status: Exempt This position is responsible for the execution of all daily operational functions of the Production-finishing line. This position develops and manages the daily and weekly operational and staffing plans that maximize quality, throughput, and productivity to meet or exceed merchandising and sales requirements and cost expectations. This position will do so by cultivating positive employee relations and a focused, safe and productive work environment. Primary (Essential) Functions: * Ensure Production department performs at expected levels as measured by KPIs for run rate, conformance to schedule, inventory accuracy, budget performance, safety and housekeeping * Ensure a continuous flow of materials in support of operational objectives o Production schedule is developed and adjusted as needed to meet demand priorities o Inventory is staged timely for production by monitoring picks and wave creations o Ship audits and packing slips are complete and accurate o Daily demand requirements are met and measured * Coordinate production schedules with Merchandising and Quality Assurance department(s) based on incoming inspection reports * Evaluate processes and results to optimize workforce skills, payroll expense, equipment, systems and facility resources * Develop and provide training for team members on Production safety requirements and LL procedures, products, systems and processes * With assistance from Supervisors, schedule, assign and manage the day-to-day duties of Production associates to ensure coverage and that established productivity and accuracy goals are met or exceeded * Document performance expectations, track individual performance and provide regular feedback using LL performance management processes. * Provide leadership and coaching to supervisors * Communicate results and opportunities for improvement to departmental associates * Formulate alternative plans and methods in preparation for unscheduled disruptions * Control inventory and ordering of all supplies to maintain cost efficient production * Ensure maintenance of hazardous waste program through documentation, storage monitoring, shipping and inspection * Support supervisors on daily production issues or quality * Communicate within Maintenance department for quick, results oriented solutions * Gather and report production totals, payroll hours and odd lot generation to Director, Production Operations * Assist Director in planning budget requests Secondary (Non-Essential) Functions: * Perform other duties and special projects as assigned Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: * Advanced skills with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Access, ) * Demonstrated experience with database Management systems * Excellent verbal and written communication skills for presenting information and ideas to various levels of the organization and responding to questions from associates and vendors * Bilingual skills (Spanish) helpful * Ability to recruit, develop, and retain an effective operations team * Ability to build positive relationships with peers, departments and vendors * Ability to multi-task, prioritize and manage teams and projects with or without authority, and to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines in fast-paced environment * Demonstrate sound judgment by making effective decisions consistent with department strategy and company policies and being able to support decisions with facts and details * Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume; ability to apply basic algebra and geometry * Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists; ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form * Ability to demonstrate calmness under pressure * Attendance and reliability is extremely important in this position Education and Experience: * Bachelor’s degree from accredited four year college or university, preferred * Five to seven years of related experience in manufacturing or production; or equivalent combination of education and/or experience and training * Experience with supervising teams in a warehouse or production environment * Hazardous Materials handling certification, required Supervision and Decision Making: This position supervises 5-7 direct and 40–100 indirect reports.
