Overview
A Forklift Operator is responsible for performing various tasks to aid daily operations throughout the door manufacturing process. Reads orders, gathers ordered materials/doors manually or with forklift, sorts for proper stacking, applies place cards, stages for loading.
What you will need:
Preferably one year experience in manufacturing setting
HS Diploma or GED preferred
Able to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen
Forklift knowledge and Certification Preferred
Knowledge of Safety procedures
Strong knowledge of door types- preferred.
Ability to exercise flexibility, good judgment.
Ability to work well independently as well as part of a team.
Familiar with reading a measuring tape.
Ability to communicate in English.
Willing to work overtime, holidays, and weekends as requested by Supervisor.
Familiar with part numbers and able to identify material.
Ability to lift 70+lbs
What you will do:
Pull all non-manufactured material according to placards
Go to designated location to pull item by number, SKU, description and quantity from the placard
Place product on pallet once pull is complete and place pallet in banding/wrapping staging area
Aid Loaders and Packaging as needed
Print labels according to purchase orders
Assign bin locations
Report all shortages, overages and damages to lead, QC and local buyer
Follow all SOP and safety procedures
Ensure vendor is using required packaging as per Masonite specs
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while operating a forklift.
Daily forklift inspections
Maintains a clean, neat, and orderly work area.
Informs lead of any unsafe or hazardous working conditions
Regular attendance and timeliness is an essential function of the job in order not to have any disruptions in production and customer service.
