Description and Responsibilities

Duties shall include but are not limited to the following. This description may change to meet customer, company and governmental requirements. The proper use of all Personal Protective Equipment is mandatory

  • Requirements:

  • Capable of lifting 40 lbs

  • Previous experience in the food industry

  • Able to work unsupervised, as well as working together with others

  • Good organizational and mathematical skills

  • Knowledgeable in GMP and HACCP programs

  • Knowledge of food manufacturing sanitation requirements

  • Ability and willingness to follow, plant Quality, Safety and Security policies and guidelines

  • Able to effectively communicate with co-workers and plant management

  • Forklift Safety certified & capable of being re-certified

  • Must have experience or willingness to learn the duties listed in the job description.

  • Good computer skills & willingness to learn in house systems, as applicable

  • Willingness to take course for class 3 with air brake license

  • Able to work flexible hours and overtime as required

Qualifications

  • Description:

  • Complete daily forklift safety inspections

  • Supplying line with production supplies i.e. bottles, caps, cartons, pallets etc. in a timely fashion so line does not wait for supplies

  • Remove finished goods

  • Accurately recording of production data

  • Hand stacking and/or manual pack-off

  • Maintain all sanitation documents in accordance with plant quality and safety requirements

  • Safe handling of chemicals

  • Manual and/or electrical pallet jacks

  • Removal and empting garbage and debris

  • Plant cycle count and inventory control policies

  • Proper documentation of chemical usage

  • Complete the following shipping & receiving functions

  • Print daily shipping report

  • Print pick list for all orders

  • Receive raw materials, packaging & non inventory items

  • Shipping customer order complete & processing all necessary paperwork

  • Picking all orders with accuracy

Job Description The Operator – Heavy Equipment is responsible for the safe operation of heavy equipment at a recycling facility, landfill or transfer station for the purpose of transferring, spreading, covering, loading and/or compacting waste or soil in an efficient and safe manner. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities * Good customer services skills to meet and exceed customer expectations; acts in a professional, courteous and cooperative manner toward customers and co-workers; works with a sense of honesty and trustworthiness. * Good time management skills to ensure assigned responsibilities are completed in an efficient and safe manner. * Good follow through ability; ability to adhere to work schedule and follows through on challenges as they arise. * Ability to adhere to Company policies and rules set forth; promotes the Company's safety standards; does not take inappropriate risks. * Maintains a feeling of pride in work; strives to achieve all goals. Preferred Qualifications * High School diploma or GED * Two years' prior related experience in heavy equipment operation. * One year of prior experience working at sites regulated by OSHA. Principal Responsibilities * Perform pre- and post-operation inspection of the equipment in accordance with Company policy to ensure windows, lights, mirrors and rear view camera are clean. Safely and efficiently operate equipment that may include: forklift, excavator, bulldozer, front-end loader and other equipment using proper safety standards. * Continuously monitor waste for evidence of unacceptable waste in materials. * Continuously monitor the condition of the equipment to ensure it is operationally ready at all times to minimize down time; clean tracks or wheels on equipment, as needed. * Perform and document minor service on equipment, referring more complicated mechanical issues to Maintenance Shop for repair. * Complete Equipment Condition Report and other reports, as necessary; report any necessary repairs to supervisor, as needed. * Follow all required safety policies and procedures. * Ensure that shop is clean, serviced and stored at the completion of each shift. * Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
