The Forklift Operator is responsible for operating a forklift or other equipment to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise. The Operator is accountable for the safe and efficient operation of the vehicle and may also be required to perform Order Filler and Checker duties.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Receiving/Put-Away:

Unload inbound shipments safely and move product to storage locations.

Efficiently stack and store the merchandise in the appropriate areas.

Quality:

Ensure inbound and outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage.

Report quality variances.

Order Picking:

Pull and prepare product for shipment, ensuring that the exact number and type of product is loaded and shipped.

Perform picking duties in an efficient manner that meets customer service standards.

Loading:

Efficiently move product from staging and/or storage areas into rail cars or trailers.

Equipment:

Load, unload, move, stack, and stage product and materials using a forklift, clamp truck, or other power equipment.

Use radio frequency equipment for picking, receiving, put away, and load functions, as required.

Maintain the facility's equipment and materials in a neat, clean, and orderly fashion.

On a daily basis, inspect and perform minor maintenance on the forklift or other equipment.

Operate all equipment in a safe and efficient manner following prescribed work methods.

Inventory:

Keep appropriate records and reports to guarantee that tight inventory control and security are maintained.

Assist in physical inventories.

Ensure proper stock rotation.

Security:

Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area.

Assist in maintaining the security of the warehouse.

Conduct operations in a manner that promotes safety.

Comply with OSHA and MSDS Standards.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Preferred education level is a High School Diploma or GED.

Must have at least one year experience operating a forklift.

Must be able to do basic math functions such as adding, subtracting and dividing.

Must be able to read orders for picking and staging of products.

Must be able to complete the pre-shift inspection forms. Must be able to pass the Scotts forklift exams and obtain and maintain a valid operator's license.

Performance Objectives: The following reflects management's definition of essential functions for this job but does not restrict the tasks that may be assigned. Management may assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time due to reasonable accommodation or other reasons. * Follows internal processes to ensure proper conformance to established policies and procedures. * Assembles, disassemblies, integrates, troubleshoots and tests highly stabilized electro-optical/infrared sub-assemblies and imaging systems (gimbals/turrets) with established procedures. * Assembles, repairs and tests Outer and Inner Axis Sub-assemblies. * Assembles, repairs, tests and integrates Opto-mechanical sub-assemblies. * Assembles, repairs, tests and integrates electro-mechanical sub-assemblies * Identifies problems with assemblies, generates Non-Conforming Reports to document issues for products. * Creates service estimates of time and materials required for repairs and submits for review and approval. * Rebuilds and retests products per approved quotes following established processes. * Completes repair and nonconformance reports by summarizing repair activities and identifying parts required to complete the required repairs. * Enters data into the daily log for turret activities. * Works closely with material planners and coordinators to order repair parts. * Coordinates with QA Department for required rework/repair inspections. * Works with Manufacturing Engineering to develop/maintain documentation. * Streamlines existing assembly/integration processes by collaborating with Manufacturing Engineering to analyze current processes; presents recommendations for improvement. * Provides daily/weekly status of projects within work group. * Adheres to quality, cost and program delivery schedules. * Follows safety procedures and practices. * Understand SOP-047 process * Is proficient in J-STD-001 and 7711/21 soldering standards. * Responsible for other duties as assigned. Aircraft avionics, flight line, and optics experience preferred.. * Excellent knowledge of electro-mechanical and opt-mechanical assembly and testing. * Excellent knowledge of Optical handling, packaging, and general cleaning. * Ability to operate and test both visible and IR sensors. * Excellent knowledge of diagnostic software, MAINT, and Built-in-Test (BIT) capabilities for products. * Ability to perform precise optical alignments utilizing collimators and interferometers. * Experienced soldering skills, familiarity with AS9100, ESD, and Foreign Object Debris/Damage (FOD) * Excellent knowledge with various adhesives, dispensing and bonding methods. * Able to comprehend complex schematics, mechanical drawings, assembly work instructions and test procedures. * Able to troubleshoot complex electrical, optical and mechanical assembly problems. * Able to work with all general manufacturing hand tools, computers, and electronic troubleshooting tools such as oscilloscopes, multi-meters, power supplies, calipers, and testing instruments. * Excellent knowledge of math, electronic, optical and mechanical aptitude. * Excellent knowledge to navigate through manufacturing databases and directories. * Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office and Excel.
