The Forklift Technician is a skilled position responsible for the movement of equipment throughout various stages of diagnosis, troubleshooting, repairing and testing, loading and unloading. The position requires a high level of understanding of warehouse procedures and skill to operate and maneuver a forklift in a safe manner. Duties include but not limited to:

Primary Accountabilities

Meet and maintain all Federal/State permits & certifications

Operate a forklift in a safe and orderly manner in accordance with PepsiCo Standards

Understand and comply with all dock safety and regulations

Receive and store incoming items according to warehouse standards; "First In -- First Out"

Maintain a safe and orderly storage arrangement for all items handled

Maintain cleanliness in assigned area (e.g. yard and warehouse)

Maintain records of daily check list (pre-trip inspections) in accordance with PepsiCo Fleet standards

Meet performance / productivity standards

Basic Qualifications
18 years or older

Pass the drug test and background check

Must be able to pass forklift driving skills test

Pass Technical assessment if applicable

Ability to effectively communicate with their manager

Regular attendance and the ability to work overtime

Helpful Experience

Working in a high-speed manufacturing environment (e.g., team-oriented, deadline driven, high performance demands, fast-paced, etc.)

Driving a forklift (e.g., performing basic operations such as driving forwards, driving backwards, lifting and lowering boom, maneuvering in tight areas without damaging product, etc.)

Working with racking systems and loading/unloading pallets (e.g., pulling and placing pallets on/off vertical product racking systems and trucks, maximizing storage by stacking products vertically, etc.

Working with standards of operation (e.g., OSHA requirements on minimum/maximum speeds, signaling, putting products in appropriate areas, etc.)

To be able to assume total responsibility for production line.</p> <p> </p> <p><strong>Essential Functions: </strong><br /> - Produces quality parts at all times.<br /> - Is responsible for equipment being used in process.<br /> - Reports malfunctions to Team Leader.<br /> - Keeps equipment clean.<br /> - Operates equipment safely and properly.<br /> - Returns equipment to its proper location when finished with it.<br /> - Must be able to set-up jobs utilizing set-up information including:<br /> - Proper installation of dies, adapters, breaker plates and screen packs.<br /> - Proper screw and sheaves needed.<br /> - Cleaning screw installation.<br /> - Making sure material hopper is clean and correct material is staged for job.<br /> - Installation of correct downstream equipment.<br /> - Set-up of lines so that water leakage is minimized and all electrical connections are made according to safety standards.<br /> - Must be able to start up jobs and produce a quality part at rate in the time allotted for the job.<br /> - Must maintain a quality part.<br /> - Must be able to properly shut down jobs including:<br /> - Proper clean-up of all dies, adapters and extruders.<br /> - Looking after die boxes and QA boxes - making sure correct tooling and associated items are placed back in correct boxes.<br /> - Making sure die boxes and QA boxes are returned to proper location.<br /> - Taking necessary steps to leave extruder and downstream equipment ready for next job.<br /> - Conservation of energy and use of water at all times.<br /> - Must be able to properly fill out all production related paperwork accurately and legibly.<br /> - Perform SPC and related analysis.<br /> - Must maintain good housekeeping habits; Keeping work area clean and equipment clean, and putting things in proper place.<br /> - Perform all production related duties as assigned by Team Leader and/or other management.<br /> - Rotate shifts and work overtime as required.<br /> <br /> <strong>Qualifications:</strong> High school diploma or GED, able to lift objects ranging 25-50lbs.</p> <p> </p> Synergy Global Systems Williamsport MD
