Forklift Operator

Job Description Job Description OVERVIEW Brooklyn based manufacturing company is looking for an experienced forklift operator to support shipping/receiving activity, as well as work alongside the production team. This individual will be responsible for carefully loading and unloading trucks, sorting, labeling, and cross-checking material with customer’s orders.

This individual will also be required to perform assorted production duties as required. GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: • Load and unload trucks via a loading dock • Pick proper material to fill customer orders • Prior to shipment, carefully check the quantity, quality, and labeling, to ensure the order is being filled correctly. • Upon receipt of material, carefully cross-check the product quantities with the manifest and check for damage • Complete required paperwork to support order fulfillment • Tend or operate machines on the production line as needed • Perform other tasks as assigned QUALIFICATIONS: • Experienced operating a forklift and working in a warehouse. • Quick learner, excellent attention to detail, and capable of working in a fast-paced environment. • Basic math skills required, using whole numbers and decimals • Able to read a ruler. • Frequently lift and move material weighing 50 lbs., and stand for long hours • Mechanically inclined and machine experience is a plus
