Job Description

Open loading dock doors, set dock plate in place, inspect trailer, chock tires and prepare the area to receive raw ingredients from tractor/ trailers (up to 5-6 trailers per shift / 50-200 pallets per shift per driver).

Inspect and verify order with bill of lading and complete count as required.

Obtain Finished Product for Shipment

Perform daily safety check of the assigned Forklift / Hi-Lift / Power Jack (Tandem) accordance with company policy.

Transport full pallets of finished product from the staging area conveyor to blast freezer storage.

Enter warehouse location in RF unit / scanner as required.

Pull frozen finished product from blast freezer storage with a Forklift / Hi-Lift according to work orders and transport to freezer staging area.

Transport finished product from production line to auto-wrapper.

Transport wrapped pallets and place in to freezer storage.

Transport Finished Pallets Load Trailers

Select pallets of frozen finished goods (75-80 pallets per shift) from freezer according to work order, scan out of inventory, mark pallets and transport to loading dock staging area.

Transport pallets of finished product from loading dock staging and load trailers according to predetermined loading plan.

A Kiln Lift is a skilled level position that is responsible for operating the forklift in the kilns department that moves lumber and other materials. Entry level responsibilities may include but are not limited to: Demonstrate the ability to operate kilns in a safe manner, following all safety procedures and rules including general safety rules, SWP's, ZES, Hazard Communication and all other rules. Demonstrate the ability to be a team player by: * Participating in team meetings, contributing by asking questions, and listening to what is being said, being constructive and tactful with all team members, treating everyone with respect, utilizing downtime or slow time to enhance the appearance and/or productivity of work area * Must maintain all kiln drying records * Demonstrate ability to load and unload kilns using forklift * Must assist and coordinate in the greasing of kiln motors and cars * Must check kiln fans for rotation * Learn and demonstrate ability to operate computer system at kilns * Must make adjustments on drying schedules as needed * Must perform daily moisture checks * Must demonstrate ability and willingness to assist electrical/mechanical personnel with any work in the kiln area * Must document problems and communicate with maintenance personnel daily * Demonstrate initiative and innovation be developing new ideas and initiating action and showing willingness to deviate from traditional approaches * Must be able to fire boiler in a safe manner * Must become knowledgeable of boiler controls and purpose of each * Learn and demonstrate emergency operating and shutdown procedures * Must be able to perform Basic Care * Must have ability to learn all equipment and be able to perform these duties * All other duties as assigned Basic Care is the inspection, cleaning and adjustment of process equipment by operating personnel on a frequent basis to ensure proper equipment operation and early detection before they become equipment failures. Basic Care is an essential component in our effort to improve overall process reliability by engaging operating production employees in a systematic approach to find equipment defects before the defects can cause a failure. Making repairs to equipment, prior to failure, results in improved process availability and reduced repair cost. Basic Care along with Reliability principles will be used to reduce process failure of the equipment. Must be able to perform the following key phases of Basic Care routes: * Inspection of equipment * Servicing and minor adjustments to the equipment (when necessary) * Cleaning of the equipment * Documentation and reporting of results Required skills and experience include: * High School Diploma or GED * Ability to work in hot, cold, dusty, and noisy industrial environment * Ability to bend, twist, lift, climb, stand throughout the duration of the shift * Ability to work rotating shifts, holidays and weekends * Demonstrated commitment to safety * Minimum of six (6) months in a manufacturing or industrial environment preferred * Must successfully complete a pre-employment background, drug screen, and physical Benefits: * West Fraser offers competitive benefits including: medical, dental, life insurance, disability, and 401-k savings plans.
