Responsibility Summary:
Perform functions to design new tooling and support process development of Forging operations for Gear Blanks and Fasteners for the automotive industry.
Responsibilities:
Involved in the design of the forging progressions on 3 and 4 station Hatebur Hot Forging presses using simulation software and forging experience.
Design tooling and gauging for new and existing product.
Assign tool numbers, enter into MRP system.
Create Bill of Materials
Troubleshoot production tooling problems.
Assist setup personal in startup of new product or in diagnosis of problems.
Provide support to manufacturing departments.
Participate in customer problem solving resolution following 8D & 3L5Y guidelines.
Provide communication link between Manufacturing activities and Engineering Department.
Participate in process review for new product quotation process.
Estimate Weight and Forging blank
Follow Engineering work instruction documents.
Use and maintain shared drawing database making appropriate documents up-to-date and available to others.
Complete ECN's and CMP's for change management as needed.
Create and contribute to PFMEA's and Control plans per AIAG format.
Maintain a safe and orderly working area.
Follow all Safety, Environmental & Quality Policies and guidelines
Perform other related duties as assigned
Experience Required:
Typically requires a 4-year bachelor's degree in mechanical, Industrial Engineering, Industrial Technology and/or related experience in Process Engineering.

SolidWorks
Microsoft Office
Forge or Deform simulation software experience is a plus
