POSITION SUMMARY The Forensic Nurse Examiner (FNE) and/or Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) will provide timely, trauma-informed, patient-centered, compassionate care to patients that have experienced sexual violence, including but not limited to pediatric, adolescent, adult sexual assault, non-fatal strangulation, intimate partner violence and human trafficking.# This will include a medical forensic exam if the patient consents, evidence collection, prophylaxis for pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases, photographic documentation, referrals for appropriate medical and psychological follow-up, along with support and participation in legal proceedings. The FNE is expected to follow protocols established by National Protocol for Sexual Assault Medical Forensic Examinations, the Vermont Forensic Nursing Guidelines, as well as the Medical Director and/or management of the SANE Program. The FNE must maintain and active Vermont nursing license, and Vermont Forensic Nursing Program SANE credentials.# QUALIFICATION # EDUCATION: Graduate of accredited RN program. BSN preferred.
