LOCATION: Boston or New York CityPosition summary:Alan Gray LLC is currently recruiting candidates for a Forensic Accountant position to audit financial records for discrepancies, inaccuracies or verification purposes. Main responsibilities include performing forensic reviews or audits on, and analysis of, company financial data to identify potential fraud, business revenue loss, quality of earnings or for verification purposes. To be successful in this role, you should combine keen investigative skills with knowledge of accounting procedures. You should also be able to organize financial information into detailed reports.CANDIDATES


* Review financial documents to identify inaccuracies. * Analyze financial data and trace discrepancies. * Conduct audits of verify quality of earnings and other issues. * Report on revenue losses and damages from contract breaches. * Provided litigation support and present findings to be used as trial evidence. * Perform regular financial record audits. * Conduct review to ensure internal controls are in place. * Keep organized files of all legal cases. * Attend court, provide expert testimony as needed. * Conduct forensic audits of property and casualty claims for major commercial insurers. * Conduct audits of MGA's and TPA's for major commercial insurers. * Conduct the provision of internal control audits, general accounting support of major commercial insurers. Support Claims Specialists in claims reconciliation and allocation projects. * Preparation of financial analysis, financial modeling, and investigative procedures in connection with various damage quantification and forensic investigation matters including business interruption. * Preparation of high-quality reports for delivery to clients detailing procedures undertaken, findings, limitations, and recommendations. * Assemble accounting information and create summary spreadsheets. * Perform financial calculations to determine economic loss calculations. * Draft reports summarizing findings and calculations. * Develop spreadsheets that document and support calculations. * Assist in the development of existing and new clients. * Other projects and responsibilities may be added at the company's discretion. * Manage staff.

* Preferable candidate will have insurance claims related experience * Proven work experience as a Forensic Accountant, Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or relevant role* BS/BA in Accounting * Must be a CPA* Minimum of 7 years of consulting and auditing * Experience within the Insurance Industry * Advanced organizational skills * Thorough knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)* Experience with accounting and financial procedures * Understanding of forensic auditing procedures * Familiarity with accounting software and spreadsheets * Strong investigative and analytical skills * Excellent numeracy skills with an ability to spot inaccuracies * The ability to handle confidential information* BSc degree in Accounting or Finance, preferably with a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification * Additional qualification in Economic Crime Investigation or Law Enforcement will be a plus * Proficient in Excel, Word, Access. * Ability to work in a fast paced environment. * Travel may be required.*

Job Description The accountant's responsibilities pertain to the accounting, financial reporting, and analysis on multiple bases of reporting (NAIC, IFRS and USGAAP). Responsibilities primarily consist of collaborating with various business contacts to analyze/understand consolidated results and stand-alone results for various subsidiaries, preparing financial statements and materials for board meetings, and performing accounting (e.g. journal entries, reconciliations, equity pick-ups, etc.) for various companies. In addition, the role will participate in year-end financial statement audits and financial control procedures. Responsibilities: * Performing accounting activities such as creating standard and non-standard journal entries, reconciling complex general ledger accounts, and preparing state filings, footnotes, and financial statement pages.• * Analyzing financial results, detecting aberrations and providing commentary with respect to specific areas of focus. * Works on semi-structured assignments based on existing practices and within guidelines. * Proposes and implements data management efficiencies. * Shares best practices with other team members and makes recommendations for process improvements. * Assists directors, managers and other team members on various projects and analyses. Job Requirements: * Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent work experience. * 4 or more years of experience required * Public Accounting background preferred * Strong written and oral communication skills. * Detail-oriented, well-organized, and excellent analytical skills. * Self-starter and team player with a high level of initiative, strong work ethic and the ability to gather, synthesize, organize and report information. * Ability to multi-task and manage priorities in a demanding and deadline-oriented environment. * Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office applications. * A working knowledge of accounting rules, regulatory rules and/or business processes as it pertains to the accountant's sphere of responsibility (e.g., a set of regulatory filings or account reconciliations). * Demonstrates emerging to solid proficiency in own discipline; still acquiring higher-level knowledge and skills and emerging ability to draft managerial reporting narratives. * Prioritizing and reprioritizing work deliverables and projects for internal clients based on changing business needs (deadlines, costs, scope of projects). * Decisions at this position are made using judgment based on skills and knowledge already developed.
