AA Asphalting is currently searching for motivated and dedicated individuals to join our team! We are seeking full-time Foreman for our North Seattle location.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in concrete on an assigned crew.

  • Organizes work to get the most productivity out of the crew by instructing the truck driver and the lead as to where to go, what to do, and what equipment or materials will be needed.

  • Oversees jobs ensuring the work is done properly and to AA's highest quality standards.

  • Checks all work for quality periodically and at the end of the job.

  • Completes all related paperwork correctly and on time, by the following morning, with few exceptions: work orders, timecards, accident reports and log book.

  • Prepares work site for concrete pour, using shovels and other hand tools to backfill area with sub-grade materials and to compact and level work area.

  • Must be able to perform all aspects of the job and train others in all aspects as well.

  • Ensures compliance of all safety rules and regulations in all operations. This includes flagging and truck and equipment operations. Practices preventive safety measures.

Requirements:

  • One year experience supervising work crew in asphalt and/or concrete work or related field

  • Class A CDL with a good driving record; must be insurable by the Company's vehicle insurance. State of Washington Flagging and Traffic Control Card within six months of employment; CPR/First Aid within one year of employment.

  • In-depth knowledge of construction procedures, equipment and safety guidelines.

  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills.

  • Ability to communicate and report effectively.

  • Aptitude in math.

  • Strong problem solving skills

ESSENTIAL DUTIES: * Knowledge of piping systems materials and their properties, including but not limited to plastics, iron, malleable steel, copper, brass, chromium, aluminium, and stainless steel. * Possess knowledge of pipe fabrication practices and procedures including electric, arc and acetylene welding, brazing and soldering. * Should be familiar with threaded, glued, bolted and compression type fittings. * Possess ability to apply arithmetic skills to work related situations, flow rates, pressure and temperature regulations, physics, algebra, geometry. * Must be able to interpret schematics, drawings, mechanical charts, conversion tables and other mathematical charts relative to the classification of Sprinkler fitter. * Employ safety measures while installing fire safety systems. REQUIREMENTS: * Demonstrate a working knowledge of tools for employee training. * High precision in working, be able to relay instruction and directions with workers. * Knowledge of principals involved in operation, repair and maintenance of related control systems. * Strong eye for detail. * Supervisor skills and record keeping ability. * Excellent judgment and analysis skills . * Must be highly organized, systematic, and adherent to construction deadlines.
