Summary of Position:

This position is responsible for monitoring asset-wide daily compressor run time, oversight of compressor performance, and supervision of assigned personnel in the operation of compressors, VRU's, flares, combustors, and BMS. The position is also responsible for the identification of problems or potential problems, documentation and reporting, and the repair or assistance in the repair of equipment.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage a team of company and contract equipment operators and technicians.

  • Respond to and troubleshoot daily compression and equipment issues across a wide range of equipment sizes and styles.

  • Design and size compression for production needs as necessary, identify and relocate compression to meet needs.

  • Manage vendors and develop long-term relationships, set expectations with vendors and regularly review cost and runtime performance to update selections.

  • Responsible for minimizing downtime associated with compression and startup - work with lease operators and midstream contacts to increase production efficiency.

  • Work with production operations leadership and other specialty foremen to promote technology improvements and data sharing through the organization.

  • Oversee emission testing and tracking, and maintain PM Schedules - work closely with air and compliance team to understand regulations and train teams on them.

  • Active in the planning of field facility expansions and in field development.

  • Monitor and manage company LOE as it relates to compression rental and maintenance.

  • Verify dimensions, specifications, and tolerances using GA drawings and P&IDs.

  • Prepare documentation and compression production reports on a periodic basis.

  • Advise and work with safety and environmental team to manage policies around training and reporting.

  • Work in all weather conditions including rain, snow, mud, etc. - work is performed in hazardous driving and working conditions all seasons of the year.

  • Operate a vehicle safely in all weather conditions to drive to oil and gas equipment located in rural/open range country.

  • Follow safe operating practices and ensure compliance with all CIVI Environment, Safety & Regulatory requirements.

  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

Knowledge/Skills/Competencies:

  • Proficient in all areas of maintenance, operations, and troubleshooting.

  • Working understanding of instrumentation and Scada systems.

  • Self-starter who is able to lead and work within a diverse team.

  • Must have strong computer skills i.e. MS Office Suite.

  • Must be able to work independently and with others.

  • Must have excellent communication and leadership skills.

  • Must have the ability to work in a highly innovative, fast-paced environment with frequently changing priorities.

  • Extensive experience working with all styles of compressors, engines and rotating equipment.

  • Experience with natural gas and electrically powered equipment, experience in troubleshooting and rebuilding each.

  • Experience in developing mechanical skill sets in individuals newer to the industry.

  • Comfortable working around machinery, electricity, and telemetry equipment.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Builds, supervises, and manages teams of compression, VRU, flare, and combustor specialists and technicians.

  • Responsible for setting expectations and building training as necessary for new and existing employees to develop skill sets.

  • Expected to teach and lead by example when necessary- on location and in the field.

Education & Experience:

  • High School Diploma required.

  • 8+ years in oilfield compression or adjacent field.

  • Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience.

  • Trade school or bachelor's degree preferred but not required.

Travel Requirements:

  • Regular travel to field locations required for both the Midland and Delaware Basins.

Base Pay Range: $125,000 - $151,000
