Develop and present professional development training to foreign language teachers based on the district's curriculum in First and Second Language Acquisition.
Directly work with and support teachers from Less Commonly Taught Languages, such as visual languages, classical languages, and those that use non-alphabetic writing forms.
Provide training and assistance to teachers from multi-cultural backgrounds on successful instructional foreign language delivery in urban classrooms.
Coach teachers of all foreign languages to improve academic and linguistic content and instruct on pedagogical skills related to Second Language Acquisition.
Build capacity of foreign language teachers to share with other teachers at local, state, and national conferences and events.
Create and deliver virtual and face-to-face Professional Development sessions and workshops to foreign language teachers on Second Language Acquisition theories and classroom implementation strategies.
Keep and submit records on professional development schedules and sessions for Title II annual reporting.
Master's in Foreign Language, Language Acquisition, Applied Linguistics, or language or linguistics-related field.
Must have a valid Texas Educator Certificate in a Foreign Language.
Five (5) years administrative/professional development delivery and teaching experience in a second language classroom combined.
