Drew University is seeking a Foreign Credential Evaluator in the International Admissions Department.

The Foreign Credential Evaluator is responsible for evaluating foreign applications and credentials to assist in the admissions decision process for international applicants to the Drew Direct Entry and the INTO Drew Pathway and Academic English programs. The incumbent also serves as the Designated School Official for F-1 student visa purposes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluates foreign credentials; converts foreign grading scales; and takes lead in the admissions decision processing for international applicants to undergraduate Drew programs, as well as INTO Drew Pathway and Academic English programs.

  • Serves as the Designated School Official for F-1 student visa purposes; and maintains current information on immigration matters.

  • Liaises with Drew's Offices of Admission and International Student Services along with the INTO Application Processing Center on application decisions, processes, and procedures.

  • Provides support to the INTO Director of Marketing and Recruitment for all stages of the student enrollment journey from inquiry to pre-arrival support.

  • Evaluates financial and application documentation; issues immigration documents for new and continuing international students; and updates student records in various databases.

  • Conducts research to determine if post-secondary institution(s) are accredited and/or recognized using industry standards and internet resources to determine whether Drew requirements are met.

  • Makes informed decisions based on interpretation of complex standards and foreign credentials from all over the world; and serves a critical role in the student's personal success and the reputation of Drew University and the INTO Drew program.

  • Works with enrollment managers and credential evaluators at other IUP partnerships to advance best practices.

  • Remains up-to-date on evaluation standards, educational practices, and the latest information on academic policy regarding international admissions standards at the undergraduate and graduate level.

  • Contributes to programs such as orientation, educational events, and other Center-wide programs and activities as assigned.

  • Performs other projects and duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

Essential:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience

  • One year of experience evaluating academic credentials at a post-secondary institution

  • Strong communication and customer relations skills

  • Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, work under pressure and, when necessary, with minimal resources

  • All candidates must be U.S. Citizen or have Permanent Resident status at time of application in order to serve as a Designated School Official for F-1 visa purposes.

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of and/or experience with international student programs such as ESL and academic preparatory programs

  • Experience using Salesforce and Slate, or similar CRM software

  • Experience using SEVIS and basic knowledge of US immigration and visa regulations

  • Detail oriented, organized, and able to juggle a fast-paced working environment

  • Ability to build effective relationships with key stakeholders and diverse groups

  • Ability to deploy and manage resources effectively with efficient priority and time management

  • Ability to maintain sound judgment and decision-making even when under pressure

  • Competent IT and analytical skills

  • Knowledge of various countries' educational systems and international credentials evaluation procedures

  • Proficient with Google suite and experienced with student data systems

  • Sensitivity to the needs of a diverse international student population

  • Designated School Officials cannot be fully remote positions per Federal guidelines. The candidate must be within commutable distance to the Drew campus in Madison, NJ
