Job Description

Responsibilities:

The Service Technician is responsible for performing automotive repairs and service in accordance with store and factory standards. This individual utilizes his skills to diagnose and resolve the different sources of automotive problems swiftly and accurately. The Service Technician works with all Service personnel and management to ensure the satisfaction of our customers.

  • Perform work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with Lithia and manufacturer standards.

  • Diagnose cause of malfunction

  • Complete all work according to the applicable safety requirements

  • Road-test vehicles to ensure quality of repair work.

  • Accurately record time spent on repairs utilizing company time clocking procedures.

  • Document work performed on repair order and document test procedures/results.

  • Responsible for providing and maintaining an inventory of normal mechanics tools to include screwdrivers, wrenches, socket wrenches, pliers, hammers, chisels and punches, and other tools needed to perform the work for which the technician is trained and not normally inventoried by the service department as "special tools".

  • Return special tools to proper place.

  • Use shop supplies and materials in a practical and economical manner.

  • Maintain an organized and clean workspace, completing a stall cleaning every day.

  • Ensure that customer's vehicles are returned to them as clean as they were prior to being serviced.

  • Constructively communicate with other dealership personnel as required to satisfy customer needs.

  • Report to management any situation or condition that jeopardizes the safety, welfare, or integrity of the dealership, its personnel, or customers.

Qualifications:

  • Prior automotive repair experience preferred

  • ASE and manufacturer certification, desired

  • A team player who is focused on providing exemplary customer service

  • Ability to multi-task in a fast paced work environment

  • Strong organizational skills and detail oriented

  • Strong communication skills

  • Be at least 18 years of age

  • Possess an acceptable driving record and a valid driver's license in your state of residence

This service is provided at regularly scheduled intervals for assigned facilities.</p> <p><strong>Position Requirements:</strong><br /> Activities % Of Time Spent 1) Travels between customer healthcare facilities to proactively monitor, collect, and exchange waste containers for various Stericycle programs and services, including but not limited to: Sharps Management Service, Pharmaceutical Waste and Document Shredding. <br /> 70% 2) Interacts professionally with onsite customer staff to ensure service expectations are met or exceeded. <br /> 10% 2) Maintains a rigid collection and service schedule. <br /> 10% 3) Communicates duty status on a defined scheduled. <br /> 5% 4) Performs other related duties as required or requested. <br /> 5% Contact with all levels of Customers on a daily basis in delivering, collecting, and exchanging Stericycle waste containers (Sharps, Pharmaceutical, Hazardous, Document Shredding, etc). <br /> Regular contact with many different levels of Stericycle personnel. Education and Experience Required (including certifications and/or software requirements for the position): <br /> • Education equivalent to graduation from high school, or GED. <br /> • Two or more years of industry related experience in a customer service capacity preferred, or the equivalent in related work experience, demonstrating strong communication skills and tact in providing superior customer service in a variety of settings and situations. <br /> • May require mandatory immunizations and credentialing based on customer requirements. <br /> • Must possess a valid driver’s license. Must possess reliable transportation to travel between customer facilities. <br /> • Demonstrates ability to work independently and with little supervision. <br /> • Demonstrates knowledge of computer software applications including spreadsheets and word processing. <br /> Key Competencies <br /> • Demonstrates the ability to present ideas and information in a clear, concise, organized and diplomatic manner; listen to others to respond effectively to ideas and questions. <br /> • Demonstrates the ability to identify and understand customer needs; takes appropriate actions to ensure customer needs are met and proactively searches of ways to increase customer satisfaction, <br /> • Demonstrates the ability to persist with a specific course of action.
