Football Instructor

• Duties/Responsibilities: Under the direction of the Sports and Fitness Director, will perform sports/fitness activities (specifically football) and supervise participants of various ages.
  
  The employee will teach a variety of classes currently offered within the YMCA Sports Program. Instructors are responsible for developing individual lesson plans, being familiar with various styles of class formats offered, supervising class participants, and leading instructional sessions as well as league games. Assist in coaching football practices from ages 7 to 14.
  
  Assist in developing volunteers with the intention of creating new coaches. Supervise football league to ensure all YMCA rules, policies and procedures are being followed at all times. Take active role in keeping track of and maintaining football equipment. When needed, officiate games to ensure the safety of the participants.

• Hours: Part-time/non-exempt position

• Wage: $16.50/hour

Qualifications

Qualifications: Must have at least some experience working with youth or adults instructing sports or fitness activities.

Experience in creating group exercise class curriculum. Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community. Bi-Lingual Spanish preferred.

Must have, or be willing to receive, First Aid and CPR Certification classes within the first 3 months of employment and keep current as a condition of continued employment. Must submit to and comply with all requirements for employment including, but not limited to, a criminal background check, drug/alcohol testing, health screening, TB test.
