  • Assist customers at checkout and bag groceries

  • Build attractive displays and stock shelves

The TAS mission is to assist taxpayers in resolving their problems with the IRS (Case Advocacy), and to identify and propose administrative and legislative solutions to mitigate those problems (Systemic Advocacy). As a Program Analyst, you will be responsible for projects that involve complex programs, IT systems, or issues that impact multiple IRS locations and/or organizations. You will coordinate project impact with internal employees and managers and individuals and organizations outside the Service. You will use your analytical and technical skills to conduct in-depth analyses of project data, requirements, and impact and identify problem areas to determine how to resolve them. As a Program Analyst you will: * Plan, perform, and/or coordinate technology programs and projects that impact all areas of the National Taxpayer Advocate Service (TAS)office including Case Advocacy, Finance, Training, Human Resources, Technical Analysis and Guidance, Business Modernization. and Business Assessment (i.e., quality, customer satisfaction etc.). Represent the National Taxpayer Advocate, Deputy National Taxpayer Advocate and Director Business Modernization in contacts with IRS officials, representatives of other agencies and non-government organizations, and various committees and task forces as needed. * Briefs the director and or Executive Director Business Modernization (EDBM), and other top level management on the status of TAS programs, major studies, related information technology (IT) programs, sensitive and/or unusual problem areas. * Apply technical expertise to the review Internal Revenue Manuals (IRMs); Interim Guidance Memorandums (IGMs); Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), User Guides and any written communications directed to TAS employees for appropriate technology and advocacy focus and technical accuracy. * Review training material for technical accuracy and technology and advocacy focus and lead the development of training material on complex technical topics. Provide technical expertise in reviewing the technology sections of the Annual Report to Congress (ARC) and the June Report to Congress (JRC). * Independently or as a leader of an ad hoc group, undertake special projects and analyze technical, operational, and administrative technology problems which exist or may arise in one or more offices or programs. * Advises the EDBM on data/information systems management.
