Food Svc Worker (Ce)

Job Description:

Performs one or a number of tasks relating to thepreparation and service of food for Center for Extended Care and Rehabilitation;the delivery and collection of food and supplies,the appropriate operation of machinery, and the sanitation of specific areas of the department.
1.Prepares and serves food to patients asassigned.

• Preparesand arranges food according to guidelines or tallies.

• Handlesfood in accordance with sanitary regulations.

• Servesfood while accurately filling requests.
  2.Transports food and supplies to designated areas within Hospitalor cafeteria.

• Deliversfood trays, nourishment, supplemental feedings and supplies in an orderly andtimely fashion.

• Operateselevators when needed.

• Collectsused carts or trays and returns them to the kitchen.

• Maintainsa sufficient amount of each item to support needs.
  3.Operates machines used in thepreparation of food or sanitation equipment and work area.

• Usesmachines/equipment in a safe and efficient manner.

• Operatesall utensils according to proper procedures.
  4.Maintains cleanliness of the work area.

• Mopsfloors, cleans equipment, utensils, work and service areas, using detergentsand germicides required.

• Refrigeratesand labels perishable food.

• Storesall supplies in an orderly fashion.

• Sortsall silverware for washing and cleans, polishes stainless steel equipment.
  5.May perform environmental serviceduties.
  6.Performs related duties as required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent,required.

• Stockroom experience, preferred.

• Ability to communicate effectively. Must be able to understand and follow verbalinstructions. Must be able tocommunicate in English.
