Swedish Medical Center is looking for a Food Services Worker (0.3 FTE, Evening Shift) to work in Cafeteria at Swedish Edmonds in Edmonds, WA.

This position performs assigned tasks in the serving, assembling, cashiering and stocking of food items in order to deliver food to customers in a quality manner. Cleans working utensils, equipment, workstations and common areas to maintain order and sanitation standards in the department.

In this position you will:

  • Serve food to customers in cafeteria in order to meet demand for mealtime food service.

  • Assemble and portion nourishment's and beverages in order to deliver requested product to customers.

  • Clean dishware, small wares, and equipment and work areas in order to meet safety and sanitation standards.

  • Stock work areas with food, supplies and/or small wares in order to provide work materials for staff.

  • Provide customer assistance in Cafeteria areas and patient care areas in order to meet customer needs and expectations.

  • Transport food to various service areas in order to accomplish timely delivery of and quality food to requesting areas.

  • Transport soiled trays and dishware from patient care and catering areas to kitchen for cleaning.

  • Handle cash as assigned for Lead and Manager's reconciliation and documentation.

  • Perform other related duties as requested to facilitate maintenance of department operations.

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Current Washington State Food Handler's permit

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Food service experience

Produces, assembles, portions, serves and displays patient, cafeteria and catering main entrees and accompaniment items. Maintains work areas and equipment in order to meet sanitation and safety standards as well as par levels for food and supply stock. In this position you will: * Prepares hot and cold food items according to established recipes. Broils, grills, bakes, fries, purees and cooks foods in a timely and efficient manner. Pre-preps food items as indicated on production sheets. * Operates cooking equipment efficiently, utilizing safety measures. Ensures the safe and proper handling of all food items according to HACCP and local agencies. * Portions food items into proper serving containers utilizing proper portion sizes. Follows recipes and plating guides for all items served. Garnishes food items according to recipes on a consistent basis. * Produces and evaluates food for general patient Cafeteria and catering menus at the proper time and temperature in order to satisfy customer demand. Required qualifications for this position include: * High school education or GED * Institutional cooking or culinary arts training * Progressively responsible experience in cooking in an institutional food service setting. * Current Washington State Food Handler's permit.
