Introduction:
The Prince William-Manassas Regional Adult Detention Center is looking for a proactive, positive, and skilled Food Service professional to supervise and direct the food-service staff and operations for the facility. The ideal candidate must have a positive, collaborative, and thoughtful style of leadership designed to mentor and support the internal food service staff, partner with the security staff, and manage inmate trustee workers. This position directly supports the Food Services Manager to execute a safe, nutritious, and cost-effective food service program for the facility. Responsibilities will include supervise operational designing menus for various dietary restrictions, nutrition, and other statutory guidelines, organizing and supervising the food prep and cooking, ordering and maintaining food, equipment, and supplies inventories, and complying with safety and cleanliness standards. In this position, you will work directly and closely with inmates housed at the Adult Detention Center
Nature of the Work:
This class is part of the Food Services Job Family. Incumbents oversee the food service operation, personnel, and records at a county facility such as park or corrections system. Responsibilities may include: sourcing and purchasing food inventory and supplies; dietary compliance, pricing, and product solicitation; supervising, training, and evaluating the work of assigned staff; developing and implementing operations controls to ensure high quality food products, outstanding customer service, and compliance of nutritional, sanitary, safety, health and religious standards and procedures.

Must pass a criminal history background investigation to include fingerprint and driving record check. Must pass a polygraph exam. Pass pre-employment physical. Must have a valid driver's license.
Physical Requirements:
Positions in this class typically require: crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.
Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Incumbents may be subjected to moving mechanical parts, electrical currents, fumes, odors, dusts, gases, poor ventilation, chemicals, oils, extreme temperatures, and threatening environments.
Working Schedule:
40 hours per week, typically Monday-Friday. Responding to emergencies, inclement weather, and other issues that may impact food service operations before or after regular working hours, including on holidays and weekends, with little or no notice is required

Starting Salary Range:
$31.96 to $45.42 (Minimum to Midpoint)
