Overview

Healthcare Services Group (HCSG) typically services long term care and nursing facilities and is now hiring a Dietary Aide in your area! HCSG has a custom, state of the art training program!

Position Summary

  • The Dietary Aide assists the Cook in the preparation and service of meals.

  • Utilizes protective gear in all appropriate functions

  • Places prepared food on plates/trays in accordance with tray tickets in line with our established policies and procedures, and, as may be directed by the Food Services Director/Manager or Cook, to ensure that quality food service is provided at all times.

  • Prepares and delivers food and trays, washes dishes and cleans and sanitizes kitchen according to health standards.

  • The Dietary Aide must be detail-oriented, well-groomed, act professionally and must be a team player who works well with others.

  • The Dietary Aide consistently embodies the characteristics necessary to drive the Company's Purpose, Vision, Values, and DNA.

Qualifications

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Specialized training in foodservice is desirable. May be required to successfully complete an approved sanitation and safety course.

  • Ability to read, speak and understand English, follow directions and complete tasks.

  • Ability to follow time schedules for meal preparation and serving.

  • Maintains a neat, clean, well-groomed appearance.

  • Dependable, with experience working in facilities utilizing quantity food production methods.

  • General knowledge and understanding of nutrition.

  • Ability to read and accurately apply requirements of food tray cards.

  • Ability to maintain records and complete reports as required.

  • Written and oral communication skills.

  • Knowledge of quantity food production and serving techniques, food safety/sanitation requirements and procedures.

  • Ability to interact positively with residents, client and other personnel and the public.

Additional Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift/carry a maximum of 30 pounds, push/pull a maximum of 50 pounds, stand, sit, bend and walk for extended periods of time.

  • Must be able to work around food and cleaning products.

  • Must live in service area. No relocation costs.

Minimum eligibility requirements * Must be able to read, write and follow oral and written directions at a level necessary to accomplish the job. * Obtain Food Handlers Permit (as required by State regulations). * Must complete Food Service Manual Training and follow all required guidelines as set forth by the Health Department. * Must understand and follow therapeutic diet orders for residents. * Must have compassion for and desire to work with the elderly. * Must demonstrate the ability to work responsibly as a team member as well as an individual. * Must be honest, fair, dependable, respect confidentiality and the rights and privacy of others. * Practice and promote the company's Policies and Procedures, Mission Statement, Core Values and Founding Principles. * Must be able to communicate effectively with residents, families, staff, vendors and the general public. * Must meet all health requirements. * Must pass criminal background check. * Must be able to perform duties and responsibilities (essential job functions), with or without reasonable accommodation. Essential functions * Prepare, wash and store dishes, pots and pans, kitchen equipment following Company procedures. * Perform kitchen cleaning duties including but not limited to dish washing area, floors, walls, equipment, storage areas, prep areas, outside receiving and dumpster areas. * Set up serving carts for each meal as required. Help serve meals to residents' tables following Company procedures including proper diet orders. Assist in busing tables and prepare dishes for washing. Clean dining room tables and chairs as needed. Vacuum and clean dining room area. Set tables for next meal. Prepare water carafes and distribute to each table. Focus on good customer service in regard to food service. Deliver trays to resident apartments as needed. Works as a part of the dietary team to ensure a smooth, efficient and safe operation of the kitchen. * Responsible for ensuring that all employees are providing excellent customer service to internal and external customers. * Perform job duties for residents and with team members in a courteous and professional manner. * Take initiative to ensure resident safety and satisfaction is a priority. * Meet and greet visitors in a friendly, helpful manner (Visitors include anyone who visits the community; specifically, current residents' families and friends, prospective residents and their families, referral sources, vendors and regulators). * Answer phones appropriately, according to company and community standards.
