Overview

Healthcare Services Group (HCSG) typically services long term care and nursing facilities and is now hiring a Dietary Aide in your area! HCSG has a custom, state of the art training program!

Position Summary

  • The Dietary Aide assists the Cook in the preparation and service of meals.

  • Places prepared food on plates/trays in accordance with tray tickets in line with our established policies and procedures, and, as may be directed by the Food Services Director/Manager or Cook, to ensure that quality food service is provided at all times.

  • Prepares and delivers food and trays, washes dishes and cleans and sanitizes kitchen according to health standards.

  • The Dietary Aide must be detail-oriented, well-groomed, act professionally and must be a team player who works well with others.

  • The Dietary Aide consistently embodies the characteristics necessary to drive the Company's Purpose, Vision, Values, and DNA.

Qualifications

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Specialized training in foodservice is desirable. May be required to successfully complete an approved sanitation and safety course.

  • Ability to read, speak and understand English, follow directions and complete tasks.

  • Ability to follow time schedules for meal preparation and serving.

  • Maintains a neat, clean, well-groomed appearance.

  • Dependable, with experience working in facilities utilizing quantity food production methods.

  • General knowledge and understanding of nutrition.

  • Ability to read and accurately apply requirements of food tray cards.

  • Ability to maintain records and complete reports as required.

  • Written and oral communication skills.

  • Knowledge of quantity food production and serving techniques, food safety/sanitation requirements and procedures.

  • Ability to interact positively with residents, client and other personnel and the public.

Additional Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift/carry a maximum of 30 pounds, push/pull a maximum of 50 pounds, stand, sit, bend and walk for extended periods of time.

  • Must be able to work around food and cleaning products.

  • Must live in service area. No relocation costs.

Are you an experienced, hard-working kitchen professional looking for a consistent schedule of 40-hour weeks and excellent benefits? Housing & Food Services (HFS) is seeking applicants for 2 Lead positions on our By George/Mobile Dining (Food Truck) team. The lead position may perform short-order cooking and/or participate and lead staff in preparation of menu items as well as interact with customers. By George and UW Mobile Dining are retail dining operations located on and near the hustle and bustle of Red Square on the UW Campus. By George serves Starbucks Coffee, Freshens treats and hearty lunches in the lower level of Odegaard Library. UW Mobile Dining consists of three food trucks: Hot Dawgs, Sunrise Griddle and Motosurf. They're a popular lunch destination for students and staff who are grabbing lunch on the go or hanging out in Red Square to enjoy the weather and people watching. They serve approximately 1,500 customers per day. What You Will be Doing * Preparing menu items per established recipes. * Performing short-order display cooking. * Interacting frequently with customers to take orders, answer questions about ingredients, recipes and pricing. * Work alongside staff and assign tasks to student and Food Service Workers to ensure production goals are met by checking work and providing instruction when needed. Minimum Qualifications * One year of experience cooking in high-volume restaurant of production kitchen. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may substitute for required qualifications. Desired Qualifications * Experience using email, experience using a menu management system to review recipes and instructions and/or complete basic entries such as temperature logs and waste sheets. * Experience working as an integral member of a team. * Experience providing informal leadership/direction/instruction to others. Conditions of Employment * A satisfactory outcome from the reference check process. * Acquire a Washington State Food Worker Card within two weeks of employment and maintain thereafter. * Must be able to carry up to 25lbs between the By George kitchen and the Food Trucks on Red Square. Available Shifts * Monday-Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. * Monday-Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Schedules may be changed with two weeks' notice. These positions are nine-month cyclic position that will work full-time, mid-September to mid-June. Additional work may be available in the summer based on business needs and seniority. Compensation The salary range for the Food Service Worker Lead position is $2,722-$3,202 per month, depending upon experience, plus full benefits, including affordable medical and dental coverage, employer matched retirement plans, paid holidays, paid sick leave and paid vacation.
