Position Summary

  • The Dietary Aide assists the Cook in the preparation and service of meals.

  • Places prepared food on plates/trays in accordance with tray tickets in line with our established policies and procedures, and, as may be directed by the Food Services Director/Manager or Cook, to ensure that quality food service is provided at all times.

  • Prepares and delivers food and trays, washes dishes and cleans and sanitizes kitchen according to health standards.

  • The Dietary Aide must be detail-oriented, well-groomed, act professionally and must be a team player who works well with others.

  • The Dietary Aide consistently embodies the characteristics necessary to drive the Company's Purpose, Vision, Values, and DNA.

Qualifications

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Specialized training in foodservice is desirable. May be required to successfully complete an approved sanitation and safety course.

  • Ability to read, speak and understand English, follow directions and complete tasks.

  • Ability to follow time schedules for meal preparation and serving.

  • Maintains a neat, clean, well-groomed appearance.

  • Dependable, with experience working in facilities utilizing quantity food production methods.

  • General knowledge and understanding of nutrition.

  • Ability to read and accurately apply requirements of food tray cards.

  • Ability to maintain records and complete reports as required.

  • Written and oral communication skills.

  • Knowledge of quantity food production and serving techniques, food safety/sanitation requirements and procedures.

  • Ability to interact positively with residents, client and other personnel and the public.

Additional Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift/carry a maximum of 30 pounds, push/pull a maximum of 50 pounds, stand, sit, bend and walk for extended periods of time.

  • Must be able to work around food and cleaning products.

  • Must live in service area. No relocation costs.

VIEW JOBS 3/26/2020 12:00:00 AM 2020-06-24T00:00 Description The Cary Arts Center seeks individual at least 18 years of age who is responsible, flexible, energetic, able to multi-task, and be service and detail oriented for a Studio Assistant position. The Studio Assistant performs Clay Open Studio maintenance, organization, studio specific tasks including but not limited to assisting patrons with questions, loading and unloading ware, and other studio related tasks. This position also requires routine clerical and public contact work to welcome patrons and visitors to the Open Clay Studio, and to help make their participation in the Center as safe, rewarding, and enjoyable as possible. The responsibilities also include entering computer data, processing customer inquiries, handling general office duties, along with obtaining and dispensing accurate information concerning departmental programs. This position will work a maximum of 19 hours per week. Required shifts are Monday evenings 3-10 pm and Friday's 8:30 am - 3 pm, which will also include alternating Saturday days 8:30 am - 3 pm. Must be able to begin early to mid-March. Typical Tasks Serves as receptionist, answers telephone, receives citizen complaints and inquiries, and requests for services and provides department information and materials to citizens, or refers to appropriate person; Operates standard office machines, including copiers and computers; computer work may be extensive; Registers the public for classes; Coordinates information about classes with instructors including enrollment and class status; Follows through on class cancelations including calling students, deleting entries in room calendar and updating supervisory staff; Enters and retrieves information to update records, process transactions, or responds to requests for information; Sells clay and supplies available through Point of Sale; Enforces Town of Cary policies; Performs basic accounting for money received through the cash register; Opens and/or closes and secures center daily; Follows up with supervisor with oral and written reports; Provides routine information on departmental policies, procedures and services; Handles special projects; Performs other job-related tasks as required. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities General knowledge of computers and related software; general knowledge of standard office practices and procedures; ability to complete assignments accurately and prior to the established deadline; skill in the operation of common office equipment; general knowledge of cash collection procedures; ability to meet the public effectively; ability to communicate effectively; ability to deal with the public in a firm but tactful manner; ability to maintain and establish effective working relationships with others; ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions; ability to acquire knowledge of policies, procedures and services of the center, division and department; ability to maintain filing systems. Must be able to lift objects up to 25 pounds, such as bags of clay and pottery, and move chairs around. Minimum and Preferred Qualifications Must be at least 18 years old with high school diploma or equivalent; Requires knowledge of ceramic arts practices and procedures including hand built and wheel-thrown construction; glazing and surface decoration; use of proper equipment; and electric, gas, and raku kiln firing.
