Position Summary

  • The Dietary Aide assists the Cook in the preparation and service of meals.

  • Places prepared food on plates/trays in accordance with tray tickets in line with our established policies and procedures, and, as may be directed by the Food Services Director/Manager or Cook, to ensure that quality food service is provided at all times.

  • Prepares and delivers food and trays, washes dishes and cleans and sanitizes kitchen according to health standards.

  • The Dietary Aide must be detail-oriented, well-groomed, act professionally and must be a team player who works well with others.

  • The Dietary Aide consistently embodies the characteristics necessary to drive the Company's Purpose, Vision, Values, and DNA.

Qualifications

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Specialized training in foodservice is desirable. May be required to successfully complete an approved sanitation and safety course.

  • Ability to read, speak and understand English, follow directions and complete tasks.

  • Ability to follow time schedules for meal preparation and serving.

  • Maintains a neat, clean, well-groomed appearance.

  • Dependable, with experience working in facilities utilizing quantity food production methods.

  • General knowledge and understanding of nutrition.

  • Ability to read and accurately apply requirements of food tray cards.

  • Ability to maintain records and complete reports as required.

  • Written and oral communication skills.

  • Knowledge of quantity food production and serving techniques, food safety/sanitation requirements and procedures.

  • Ability to interact positively with residents, client and other personnel and the public.

Additional Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift/carry a maximum of 30 pounds, push/pull a maximum of 50 pounds, stand, sit, bend and walk for extended periods of time.

  • Must be able to work around food and cleaning products.

  • Must live in service area. No relocation costs.

This classification is distinguished from the Medical Social Worker I by its responsibility to treating the more difficult and complex cases such as but not limited to crisis intervention and behavior modification. Essential Responsibilities: Upholds Kaiser Permanente's Policies and Procedures, Principles of Responsibilities, and applicable state, federal and local laws. Quality of Clinical Services The Medical Social Worker II provides quality counseling services by assessing patient/family system needs then developing and implementing treatment plans in accordance with departmental and medical center policies, and in compliance with the I standards of the social work profession. Quality of clinical services is indicated by QM findings, case presentations, documentation review, staff and patient feedback and supervisory discussions. Performs a bio-psychosocial assessment interview with patient, family, and/or significant other according to department policy and standards. Provides appropriate crises intervention/treatment to adults, children and families in emergent situations including assessment, counseling, information/referral and providing consultation to physicians and healthcare team. Provides a professional interpretation of patient's condition (i.e., situation, affect, behavior and verbal content) and recommends appropriate psycho-social intervention(s) and/or treatment plan. Develops culturally sensitive assessment that reflects departmental standards and includes: reasons for referral; source of referral; Informant name; physical/medical issues; interpersonal and social relations; emotional/psychiatric/adjustment issues including assessment of depression; role performance/social transition; community planning/resources (as indicated); legal/protective issues (as indicated) Provides appropriate counseling services to patients and/or family based on clinical assessment and consistent with patient's on-going medical condition/needs. License, Certification, Registration Registered Associate Clinical Social Worker (ASW) with California Board of Behavioral Sciences required. Preferred Qualifications: One-year experience in a health care environment preferred. LCSW One (1) year of experience working as a social worker in an acute care general medical center. Able to work independently in a fast paced inpatient environment preferred. Notes: May be filled by MSW II or MSW III.
