Duties

What to Expect

  • Supervises assigned personnel, establishes and approves work schedules, assigns work, trains employees, counsels employees, approves/disapproves leave, recommends commendatory/disciplinary actions, resolves employee problems. Orders foods and supplies to maintain proper operating levels.
  • Maintains daily administrative work, including preparation and submission of accounting records, and operational reports.
  • Responsible for inventory, cash controls, accountability and security of merchandise and equipment. Conducts physical inventories and prepares inventory reports.
  • Supervises the preparation and sale of food items.
  • Receives and checks quality of food and supply items.
  • Ensures optimum stock availability through periodic stock counts and maintenance of sales records to ensure correct pre-preparation, issuance and consumption is in accordance with requirements.
  • Lifts and carries objects up to 45 lbs independently and objects over 45 lbs with assistance.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

  • Must be knowledgeable in the operation of a Food Service Activity.
  • Must have experience in and knowledge of food preparation, presentation, and food service operations.
  • Basic skills in business administration, scheduling, accounting, policies, and performance standards.
  • Knowledge and skill to evaluate a variety of raw and cooked food items.
  • Knowledge of food spoilage, food borne illness and food safety.
  • Skill to follow oral and written instructions.
  • Skill to supervise employees in the accomplishment of work.
  • Must be able to successfully complete and maintain a proper food safety/sanitation; alcohol serving training program; and/or ServSafe trainer certification, as applicable.
