The Iowa Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) is seeking a Food Service Worker to join the team at the Independence Mental Health Institute (IMHI). This is a full-time position with strong opportunity for advancement, growth, and development.
As a member of the Dietary Department of the Institute, the Food Service Worker performs manual food service work in the serving of meals and cleaning of dietary items and areas and completes related work as required. This position assists in setting up food service lines and hot food carts or special trays as well as with serving food on the tray line and in living units or wards.
IMHI provides inpatient treatment and acute psychiatric services. The facility offers several services including individualized treatment plans and support for children and adolescent patients to continue their education. Individuals are encouraged to collaborate with staff members in formulating their own plan. Medication, group counseling, and activities therapies might be included as well.
