SUMMARY: Performs a variety of routine in the cafeteria to prepare equipment and food service; serves food and clean up after meals, following established practices and procedures. Stores food stuffs, cleaning chemicals and paper supplies following established procedures.
DEFINITION OF POSITION:
Responsible for the day to day activities of the cafeteria by completion of work assignments as directed by cafeteria supervisory team.
SCOPE OF POSITION:
This position performs a variety of duties related to the daily operations of the cafeteria to include sanitation, organization, stocking, serving customers, cleaning and all other related duties as assigned.
SIGNIFICANT ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES;
Cooks items according to customer orders.
Maintains overall sanitation and organization of the grill area to include all cooking and refrigeration equipment.
Takes orders from customers and prepares items to order.
Orders supplies as needed for the grill areas.
Sets up and takes down the hot food service line.
Serves food as directed including following portion control guidelines.
Takes and logs food temperatures.
Other duties as assigned.
1.High School graduate or GED preferred.
2.One Year of experience as a food service worker or similar position in the foodservice or hospitality business such as hotel or restaurant.
3.Must have a good oral communication skills in English.
4.Must have excellent customer service skills.
5.Must be familiar with basic foodservice sanitation, operation of equipment and HACCP standards.
6.Must be available for varied shifts to include some week-ends and holidays.
7.Must be able to lift 25 pounds.
