Food Service Worker I - 1913 Restaurant And Bar

Join our team at 1913 Restaurant and Bar! Open 7 days/week 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., we serve our patients, staff, and the general public. Duties will include cleaning and sanitizing equipment and workstations. Responsible for maintaining kitchen work areas, equipment, and utensils.

Schedule is 12:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Weekend availability is required.

As a successful candidate, you will:

• Responsible for maintaining kitchen work areas, equipment, and utensils:

• Washing dishes by hand or placing them in a dishwashing machine.

• Polishing silver and washing pots.

• Washing work tables, walls, refrigerators and meat blocks.

• Sweeping, moping, and cleaning/vacuuming floors.

• Cleaning equipment using specific chemicals to ensure sanitary standards.

• Removing trash and garbage to designated areas.

• Practices a high level of integrity and honesty in maintaining confidentiality.

• May assist in the preparation of hot and/or cold foods, and the proper storage of food, utilizing knowledge of temperature requirements and spoilage:

• Reads recipes and/or product directions.

• Estimates food requirements.

• Operates a variety of kitchen utensils to weigh, measure, mix, wash, peel, cut, grind, stir, strain, season and knead foodstuffs for cooking, serving, and storing.

• May taste test products.

• Brews coffee and tea.

• May set up stations with entrées, soups, salads, breads, condiments, other food products and utensils:

• May interact with customers in the serving, retail and dining areas, assisting customers with opening containers and cutting food when requested.

• Provides general stocking duties in service area. Keeps records for supplies and equipment as needed. May be required to restock other beverage areas.

Your qualifications should include:

Basic education, experience and skills required for consideration:

• High School diploma, GED or equivalent experience.

• Knowledge of basic operation of equipment and cash-handling procedures preferred.

Skills/Abilities:

• Presents self in a highly professional manner to others and understands that honesty and ethics are essential.

• Ability to maintain a positive attitude.

• Ability to communicate with co-workers and other departments with professionalism and respect.

• Must be able to work nights, weekends, and some holidays.
