The Food Service Worker in the Sanitation Department at MD Anderson Cancer Center in the Texas Medical Center provides skills necessary to perform a variety of basic food service tasks including cleaning, set up and food distribution. They positively impact food service or production for the institution.
The shift for this position will be Monday to Friday, 3pm to 11:30pm. May be moved to new locations and/or shifts as operations dictate. Cross training may also involve shift changes.
Hourly breakdown of salary range:
Minimum $17.00 - Midpoint $19.08 - Maximum $21.15

KEY FUNCTIONS:
Perform simple food preparation by following established written recipes. Provide excellent customer service to patients, visitors, and colleagues. Practice cleaning and sanitizing procedures. Practice cleaning and sanitizing procedures, including safe handling of chemicals and 3-compartment sink. Properly stores all equipment, chemicals, and utensils. Follow proper procedures to operate dish and pot washing machines. Follow proper procedures for disposal and trash compactor.
EDUCATION:
Preferred: High school diploma or equivalent would be a plus.
EXPERIENCE:
Preferred: Six months of experience in hospital or commercial food service operation.
LICENSE/CERTIFICATION:
Must obtain a current Texas Food Handlers Certification within 30 days of entry into job.
