MIRAMAR CULTURAL CENTER
AS NEEDED Positions (NO BENEFITS)
The positions are as follows:
BANQUET SERVERS/SERVING STAFF (AS NEEDED) - RATE $20.00
DISHWASHER (AS NEEDED) - RATE $20.00
Emergency Management Responsibilities:
Note: During emergency conditions, all City of Miramar employees are automatically considered emergency service workers. City of Miramar employees are subject to being called to work in the event of a disaster, such as a hurricane, or other emergency situation and are expected to perform emergency service duties, as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Food & Beverage Banquet Staff - Servers &Dishwashers
Responsible for working across several areas of Food & Beverage while providing an excellent guest experience in an attentive, courteous, and efficient way.
Ability to wash dishes, glassware, flatware, pots or pans, using dishwashers or by hand.
Place clean dishes, utensils, or cooking equipment in storage areas.
Maintain kitchen work areas or equipment in a clean and orderly manner.
Clean or prepare various foods for cooking or serving.
Stock supplies, such as food or utensils in serving stations, cupboards, refrigerators, or salad bars.
Setup banquet tables.
Sweep or scrub floors.
Clean garbage cans with water or steam.
Sort and remove trash, placing it in designated pickup areas.
Transfer supplies or equipment between storage and work areas by hand or using hand trucks.
Work schedule varies and may include working on holidays, weekends, and alternate shifts.
Requires standing for extended periods, walking, pushing, lifting up to 75 pounds, bending and reaching.
Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 4 hours in length.
Must be able to push and pull carts and equipment weighing up to 250 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis.
Take and deliver customer orders, consistently demonstrating high levels of customer service.
Ensure cleanliness of work areas.
Comply with security, fire regulations and all health and safety legislation.
Comply with local licensing laws.
Other tasks assigned by F&B Manager or designee.
Experience
Previous Food & Beverage and/or industry experience desirable; including working in an outdoor environment with exposure to various weather conditions. Knowledge of Food Hygiene Regulations, Cash handling and basic computer literacy are preferred.
Position Requirements/Qualifications
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS TO PERFORM WORK:
High School Diploma or GED equivalent
Or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of the job.
Ability to pass pre-employment background and drug screening.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bilingual: Spanish or other foreign language skills are beneficial.
Previous Food & Beverage and/or industry experience desirable; including working in an outdoor environment with exposure to various weather conditions.
Knowledge of Food Hygiene Regulations, Cash handling and basic computer literacy are preferred.
