The Department of Military and Veterans Affairs Delaware Valley Veterans' Home is looking for someone to provide food service work in our long-term care facility serving our veterans and their spouses.

Food Service Workers perform routine work in the preparation of meals and sanitation of food preparation/serving areas at the Delaware Valley Veterans' Home. Duties include cleaning and sanitizing equipment, utensils, dishes, pots, pans, work surfaces, and other kitchen items; preparing trays, measuring portions, serving food, and transporting trays, carts and nourishment; using equipment such as mixers, dicers, slicers, knives, grinders.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time: 8.0 hours/day; 40 hours/week

  • Positions are available on the following shifts:

  • 1st Shift: (6:00 AM - 2:30 PM) Rotating days and weekends

  • 2nd Shift: (10:30 AM - 7:00 PM) Rotating days and weekends

  • Lunch Period: 30 Minutes

  • Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • No previous experience and training required, but previous food service worker experience preferred.

Additional Requirement:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

  • This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
