Orin's Place Caf is located in Paccar Hall, the home of UW's Business School. Orin's Place serves 1,500 or more customers daily as UW's students, faculty and staff look to grab breakfast, lunch, and dinner and the occasional between-class snack. The full-service cafe offers a variety of pastries, breakfast sandwiches and hot cereal in the mornings, hot sandwiches to order and soups for lunch and dinner. Grab-and-Go items are available for those who are on a tight schedule. And of course, espresso drinks are always available for those suffering caffeine deficiencies.
What You Will be Doing
Use recipes and production sheets from CBORD FSS to execute food preparation.
Set up station by stocking according to established plans and par levels.
Restock and rotate station according to established plans, par levels and food handling policies and procedures.
Receive customer orders, answering questions about ingredients, recipes and pricing.
Gather, assemble, package and serve menu items to customer order.
Prepare specialty beverages to customer order.
Operate point of sale systems, keying in sales, taking payments and making change; account for receipts at the end of the work shift.
Organize work to meet daily production goals.
Continuously clean and maintain order of workstation and prep areas.
Ensure that all foods used are properly handled, wrapped, dated, labeled and stored.
Maintain records of foods produced, foods wasted, and any recipe adjustments according to CBORD specifications.
Report safety issues or operational problems to management.
Report equipment malfunctions to management.
May direct student or hourly staff.
Perform related duties as requested.
Take inventory counts using tally sheets from CBORD FSS system.
Possession of, or eligible to obtain a Washington State Food Worker Card within two weeks of employment.
Conditions of Employment
A satisfactory outcome from the reference check process.
Acquire a Washington State Food Worker Card within two weeks of employment and maintain thereafter.
Schedules may be changed with two weeks' notice. These positions are nine-month cyclic position that will work full-time, mid-September to mid-June. Additional work may be available in the summer based on business needs and seniority.
The salary range is $2,776 - $3,120/month, plus full benefits.
