Substitute teachers perform the instructional and classroom managment processes for teachers and educational aides who are absent for a day or longer periods of time. Their duties include:

• Taking attendance.

• Provide classroom instruction to students as outlined in lesson plans.

• Creates a classroom that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interest of students.

• Maintains a safe and orderly environment.

• Maintains established routine of the school and classroom procedures in which assigned.

• Maintains a professional appearance as an example to students.

• Remains at school the entire school day, uncless otherwise instructed to leave by the principal.

• Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.

• Maintains reasonable rules of conduct which encourage self-discipline and responsibility.

• Communicates effectively with parents when needed.

• Meets and instructs assigned classes in the locatoins and times designated.

• Completes other duties as assigned.

• Maintains confidentiality.

Selected candidates must complete additional forms such as I-9, W-4, Direct Depost Enrollment form, etc.

Selected candidates are required to provide a valid driver's license and social security card.

Selected candidates will complete and clear a pre-employment background check.

Selected candidates are required to obtain fingerprints by the state approved provider at a cost ranging from $45-$50.
