Job Responsibilities

Perform routine work in the preparation and cooking of food products. Cook and serve food to campus community. Serve as a positive role model for students and other employees.

• Prepare and cook meats, vegetables, soups, sandwiches, gravies, etc.

• Unload and store food products. Inspect prepared food for proper temperature, appearance, and taste.

• Measure proper quantities used in menu recipes.

• Prepares and serve food.

• Operates deep fryer, steamer, mixer, slicer, and chopping equipment.

• Provides work direction for other employees.

• Completes temperature checks for HAACP checks daily.

• Maintains clean and sanitized work areas.

• Other duties as assigned.

Minimum and Additional Requirements

Must be able to lift 25 pounds. Must be certified as a food handler within 30 days of employment.

Additional requirements:

• Knowledge of methods. materials, and appliances used in food preparation and service. Knowledge of food safety and sanitation procedures pertaining 10 food preparation and service. Knowledge of meat preparation procedures.

• Preparing menu items to recipe. Proper receiving and storage of items. Temperature and HAACP checks each shift, attendance checks, and ensuring cleaning checklists are completed. Worts under the guidance of the Food Service Specialist V.

• Must work well with others and students, must be able to lift 25 pounds, must be able to sweep, mop, and rotate products. Must be able to work independently and under limited supervision. Required to work special events including, but not limited to: Graduation, AG Fest, student move-in, new student orientation, Howe-lloween, and other large campus events.
