Description:

Job Summary:
Responsible for the supervision, training, and management of the food service operation. Ensure that appropriate quantities of food are prepared and served.

Essential Tasks & Responsibilities:

  • Produce and maintain work schedules and may prepare production records.

  • Direct daily activities.

  • Maintains food production that ensures the safety and quality of food according to policies, procedures, and department requirements.

  • Ensure that food items are stored in a safe, organized, and hazard-free environment.

  • Maintain all serving schedules; ensure that all food items are served per menu specifications in a safe and appropriate manner according to departmental policies and procedures.

  • Maintain a sanitary department following health and safety codes and regulations.

  • Maintain accurate inventory on a weekly basis according to departmental policies and procedures.

  • May prepare orders as needed per vendor to ensure accurate production for location.

  • Must be knowledgeable in operating an efficient cost effective program.

  • Supervise and evaluate employees; counsel; promote employee growth, efficiency, morale, and teamwork.

  • Maintain a safe and hazard-free working environment.

  • Train/mentor other food service workers.

  • Maintain logs on all maintenance required on equipment within the food service department.

  • Perform preventative maintenance checklist.

  • Justify replacement of existing equipment to meet needs of facility.

  • Proficiency in multi-tasking.

  • Perform other duties as requested by the Food Service Director whenever his/her skill and/or experience would be necessary to initiate, coordinate, or complete any given program.

  • Must fill in for absent employees at location as necessary.

  • Maintain knowledge of daily caterings and see they are prepared and delivered on time.

  • Be able to work occasional night and weekend catered events.

  • Attend food service meetings with staff.

  • Maintain communication with staff (including the central office staff, e-mail, phone calls, inter-office mail, etc).

  • May perform cashier duties as required.

  • Promote good public relations.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Must read, write, and understand verbal instructions

  • Must complete a sanitation course either before or during first year as a lead

  • Ability to perform basic arithmetic

  • Maintain emotional control under stress

  • Ability to resolve interpersonal situations

  • Strong organizational skills

Minimum Education/Certification:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

Average team size ranges from 6-12 employees. This individual needs to be able to work as a supervisor and coach for their direct reports while at the same time being able to step in where needed to ensure our customer needs are being fully satisfied every day. The Customer Operations Supervisor will be responsible for ensuring his or her team is executing on our customer experience metrics, complaints are completed within expected days to resolution and most importantly will be tasked with quickly adapting and finding unique solutions to complex problems. This position will work cross functionally between sales, production operations, purchasing, and marketing to build strong relationships and effectively communicate to provide an outstanding customer experience. Customer Operations Supervisors also play an active leadership role on the Location Accountability Teams focusing on local geographies ensuring our customer and business requirements are met. Qualified Customer Operation Supervisor candidates will have strong leadership skills, the ability to hold teammates accountable, both direct reports and non-direct reports, and have the ability to multi task effectively. Supervisors must be a "self-starter," demonstrate high ownership for their team success, and responsibility for ensuring they learn and understand Cargill's customers and business. Principal Accountabilities 45% Coach Customer Account Coordinator's in decision making pertaining to questions they have around order entry, specifically focusing on customer and supply chain related questions. Perform supervisory duties for the Customer Account Coordinator team located at their hub, including but not limited to PMP reviews, daily coaching conversations, Performance Improvement Plans, etc. Work to ensure CAC's engagement and development are ongoing. 20% Work with Location Accountability Teams to provide leadership for local the business and grow their business results. Engage with cross functional stakeholders to identify and work through business opportunities. 15% Actively participate in the Customer Operations Management Team as well as focusing on local office leadership. 10% Provide training support and development opportunities as available for the Customer Account Coordinator Team. If training is outside of Customer Operations Supervisor's area of control they are the primary individual responsible for getting the right people involved. 10% Onboarding new Cargill employees and aligning them with Customer Account Coordinator roles and responsibilities. Relocation assistance will not be provided for this position.
