Assistant Food Service Director (Job ID 1019)
Location: Litchfield, CT
Full time / 260 days per year / 7.5 hours per day / Monday through Friday
Exempt
Reports to: Director of Food Services
Position Open Until Filled / Anticipated Start Date June 24, 2024
Position Description:
The Assistant Food Service Director is responsible for assisting the Director in all aspects of the food service program. In the absence of the director, the assistant director shall be responsible for the food service operation.
Assists with the daily operation of food service management for multiple locations.
Work with a team to identify problems and recommend solutions
Assists with hiring, training and supervision of Food Service Staff.
Ability to work with multiple software programs and assist with training.
Regular and consistent attendance is considered an essential function of this position
Major Responsibilities:
Coordinates the Food Service departments' information systems, including the maintenance of computer hardware and software programs.
Assists in the development and implementation of production records, standardized recipes, and menu development of various School and Child Nutrition Programs
Reviews, evaluates, and processes confidential applications and documentation and interacts with families.
Strong Customer Service skills required
Knowledge of food ordering, food production, and service with commercial kitchen equipment
Monitors food production, preparation practices, and service to ensure School Food Service requirements are met as well as standards of basic cleanliness, health and safety.

Qualifications:
Requires high school diploma or equivalent.
ServSafe Certified or eligble
Experience in Management of School Food Service Operations
Strong Computer skills and ability to troubleshoot.
Knowledge of HACCP
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Proven skills in problem solving, flexibility, workflow management, and initiative taking.
Ability to gather and analyze data and make informed decisions.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively in teams.
Ability to manage work in times of stress; ability to follow through and complete tasks in a timely fashion.
Strong interpersonal skills demonstrated by the ability to work with others, build consensus and maintain a positive supplier-customer relationship.
Perform duties with awareness of the impact on the department and the agency
