SUMMARY

As a Food Service Associate, you will prepare food for patients, residents and customers of the hospital. You will interact with many faces throughout the day, requiring excellent customer service and an open and inviting disposition.

STATUS: Full Time, Part Time, Per Diem

LOCATION: Newark, NY MAP

DEPARTMENT: Food and Nutrition Services

SCHEDULE: As scheduled by department

ATTRIBUTES

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Food Preparation. Prepare all meals as assigned, maintain quality, accuracy and timeliness; thoroughly replenish work stations and supplies for next service

  • Customer Service. Deliver food carts to and from units, and/or collect all soiled trays

  • Cleaning. Clean all work areas used in accordance with New York State Sanitation Code, Chapter 1, Part 14; maintain a personal representation of the Food and Nutrition Service Department through professionalism, hygiene and uniform

ABOUT NEWARK-WAYNE COMMUNITY HOSPITAL

NWCH a 120-bed hospital in Wayne County, offers services including cardiology, obstetrics and gynecology, orthopaedics and pulmonary care, as well as an innovative telemedicine program. The hospital has a renovated birthing center and emergency department.

Newark-Wayne is a New York State-designated Stroke Center, a NICHE (Nurses Improving Care for Healthsystem Elders) Exemplar hospital and a recent recipient of the WHO Baby-Friendly designation. Rehabilitative and long-term care services are provided through DeMay Living Center, an attached facility.
