The primary focus of this position is executing the Michael Foods value proposition and commercial vision statement through Sales Agencies and Foodservice Distribution. This position is responsible for driving sales execution, achieving profitable growth with our distribution partners, and performing desired market objectives with our sales agencies.


  • Execution and delivery of volume and EBITDA sales plan.

  • Secure new business and/or incremental volume among distribution.

  • Responsible for executing distributor training of Michael Foods (MFI) products, initiatives and objectives.

  • Execute Go-to-Market initiatives on a collaborative basis with Client Management in a Sales Agency.

  • Maximize MFI activity through Sales Agency Management and Training.

  • Educate and drive Sales Agency performance on MFI corporate selling platforms and all other mandated priorities.

  • Perform, monitor, and achieve general management market duties defined as the following: Monthly reporting, RFP requests, quarterly operator programming, Sales Agency expense administration, Sales Agency reviews and other time sensitive requests.

  • Drive category growth and market penetration through field execution of corporate and local distribution agreements. Management of Distribution responsibilities in assigned geography.

  • Travel requirement up to 60%.


  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience.

  • 5-7 years Sales Agency management and general business management and/or experience.

  • Ability to interface with and manage the Sales Agency's Enterprise Management role: includes driving accountability, delegation, speed to market, communications and managing performance to goal attainment.

  • Strong business finance skills and decision-making ability.

  • Proficient skills in Microsoft Office, Sales Discovery, Agency CRM Tool and Technomic Digital Resource.

  • Highly motivated individual able to work in fast-paced environment.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to prioritize, anticipates situations, and takes appropriate action.

Presides over trayline checking completed trays. * Supervises preparation and delivery of late trays. * Supervises all activities concerning cleanup of serving, preparation ware, utensils and kitchen areas. * Conducts temperature checks and logs in according to schedule. * Manages departmental Human Resources. * Interviews applicants and recommends to director for employment. * Orients new employees to job using the departmental Orientation Checklist. * Conducts performance evaluations and recommends to the director. * Schedules and staffs employees in the areas the supervisor is responsible for. * Counsels and resolves performance problems and recommends to director for disciplinary action. * Supervises the administration and coordination of departmental information systems. * Works in conjunction with Information Services Project Manager for systems implementation including identifying necessary resources, determining resource schedules and defining milestone achievements. * Maintains databases(s) supporting system solutions. * Establishes quality checks and verification points for database accuracy. * Performs system data-entry. * Designs and implements systems-related training for all staff on computers, systems, and system-generated management tools. * Provides support on system and data base functionality to end-users. * Assists in troubleshooting systems issues. * Works in conjunction with Information Services to identify and evaluate hardware and software to provide appropriate business solutions. * Acts as departmental liaison with Information Services Department. * Acts as primary point of contact with software vendors. * Develops downtime procedures for department. Qualifications What You Will Need: * Personal computer hardware skills * Local area networks (Novell, Windows NT, or UNIX) MS-DOS knowledge * Microsoft Word (or other wordprocessing application) skills * Microsoft Word Excel (or other spreadsheet application) skills * Foodservice operation knowledge * High School graduate, GED or equivalent experience (two plus years' experience) * Two years' experience in hospital food service with working knowledge of patient diets. * Associates Degree preferred * Previous supervisory experience preferred.
