SUMMARY: This is a management position that requires varied experience in food service production.

Salary Range: $24.95-$26.85

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties may be assigned.

  • Responsible for maintaining a high standard of nutrition.

  • Responsible for accountability of student meals and eligibility status.

  • Responsible for supervising/preparing the required meals.

  • Responsible for accountability of money collected daily.

  • Assist in weekly food and supply orders and monthly inventories.

  • Assist in production record accountability.

  • Assist in employee work assignments and scheduling.

  • Assists in the reporting of accidents.

  • Assist in reporting of payroll hours, overtime and sick time for staff.

  • Assist in evaluation of employees.

  • Assists in food preparation.

  • Assists in maintaining high standard of food preparation and service.

  • Assists in maintaining a high level of participation and productivity.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Assists Manager with supervising food service employees.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

High School graduate or GED equivalent.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively with individuals and groups of employees.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:

Ability to use a Personal Computer with database, spreadsheet and word-processing software. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff and the school community. Ability to speak clearly and concisely both in oral and written communication. Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies.
