Job Description

The successful candidate will work under general supervision and will be expected to:

  • Coordinates activities of an organization or department that serves food and beverages.

  • Coordinates the preparation of food for Central State Hospital.

  • Schedules and receives food and beverage deliveries, checking delivery contents in order to verify product quantity and quality.

  • Prepares and cooks foods of all types, either on a regular basis or for special guests or functions.

  • Oversees food service inventory.

  • Monitors food preparation methods, portion sizes, garnishing, presentation and display of food.

  • Monitors compliance with safety, sanitation and health rules and standards.

  • Monitors compliance with health, sanitation, safety and fire regulations regarding food preparation and serving, and dining facilities.

  • Oversees food service inventory and estimates the amount and cost of required supplies such as food and ingredients.

  • Assists in the management of all activities related to food receipt, meal delivery, and cleanup.

  • Takes customer orders, apportions food on plates and serves food to facility residents, employees and patrons and take-out orders.

High school diploma or GED AND Two years of experience in a food service operation in a capacity that involved formal supervision of workers OR One year of experience at the lower level Food Svc Spec 1 (FFT010) or position equivalent.

Central State Hospital (CSH) is in Milledgeville, the lake country of central Georgia and is Georgia's antebellum capital. CSH is approximately 2 hours from Atlanta, 2 hours and 30 minutes from Savannah and 1 hour and 45 minutes from Augusta. Central State Hospital is the home of Georgia's maximum secure forensic hospital, operated in the Payton B. Cook building in Milledgeville. CSH serves individuals who are referred by the criminal justice system for pre-trial psychiatric evaluation and/or inpatient treatment; those who have been found not guilty by reason of insanity at the time of commission of a crime or mentally incompetent to stand trial; and those who are admitted on hold orders from jails for psychiatric evaluation, treatment and stabilization. Job Summary Under broad supervision, reviews and monitors compliance with discipline specific criteria, DBHDD policies, Joint Commission standards and CSH protocols. Primary Duties and Responsibilities * Performs Joint Commission based tracer surveys utilizing medical record documentation and/or on site surveys. * Monitor, tracks, and maintains records on results of tracer surveys and other monitoring activities. * As directed by the Quality Management (QM) Director, communicates with the appropriate discipline chiefs about the tracer survey or monitoring findings. * Reviews and analyzes tracer/monitor results to identify any trends and patterns. * Recommends to supervisor any programmatic and/or operational changes based on review of tracer/monitoring results. * May provide high level support for various hospital projects, implementation of procedures/protocols, and/or any specialized assignments as directed by the supervisor * Collects and reports data as required by QM Director * May supervise and/or direct the work of others * Establishes and maintains a positive working relationship with internal and external customers, and other related contacts. * Exercises various latitudes of independent judgment Benefits Vacation: 15 days each year up to 5 years of service; 18 days each year from 5-10 years of service; 21 days each year for 10 years of service Sick Leave: accrual at a rate of 10 hours per month (15 days each year) Holidays: the state of Georgia recognizes 12 paid holidays Retirement: 401(k) plan with a matching employer contribution and a Defined Benefit Pension Plan Available Insurance: Health; Dental; Vision; Legal; Disability; Life & dependent life insurance Tax Deferred Spending Accounts: Healthcare; Childcare We are a Federal Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program qualified employer. * Salary for this position is usually between $36,268 and $63,469 based on candidate's education, experience and match with the preferred qualifications above.
