Description:

Arlington Heights School District 25 has an opening for a Full-Time (7 hours/day, Monday-Friday, 7:00 am - 2:00 pm) Food Service Employee for the 2024-25 school year.

The primary location will be South Middle School, however, the employee will be required to travel in-district (using own transportation) to work at elementary schools in food service positions, as needed.

Starting salary is $16.50/hour. Benefits are available.

Qualifications:

1.Read, write, and understand the English language

2.Demonstrate good judgment, trustworthiness, dependability, promptness, flexibility and emotional maturity

3.Maintain good personal hygiene and grooming

4.Pass a physical examination, including a TB test (cost to be covered by the employee)

5.Ability to lift a case of product, pans, filled milk cases, etc., up to 50 pounds on a regular basis

6.Demonstrate good managerial, organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills and commit to be a team player

7.Demonstrate good food service presentation and sanitation skills

8.Pass the mandated fingerprint screening required of all new employees

9.Have prior experience in the field of food service or have the ability to adapt to the school food service environment

10. Have an interest in food services

11. Pass an Illinois Food Service Sanitation Course within the first year of employment

12. Ability to perform a variety of functions/tasks in the operation where the employee is located

13. Willingly accept direction

14. Possess a high school diploma or equivalent

15. Be willing to cross train in all aspects of the operation

16. Possess strong interpersonal and communication skills to work with staff and students

Responsibilities:

1.Abide by Federal, State, and Local rules and regulations

2.Perform a variety of tasks necessary to a school lunch program, including loading, driving deliveries, and unloading food items at

each site while maintaining safe and sanitary conditions in food delivery

3.Assist in the preparation of food items following quantity cookery techniques, productions records, and approved recipes

4.Portion food attractively, accurately, and according to the USDA specifications

5.Serve all stations in the service area and provide exceptional customer service

6.Perform cleaning and sanitizing of equipment and facilities as required by local health department regulations and school policies

7.Adhere to safe and sanitary food handling procedures as required by local health department regulations and school policies

8.Understand and know how to use the Mealtime POS system

9.Count and allocate all daily receipts, demonstrate balance meal counts, prepare bank deposits and any other requested reports

10. Report all injuries immediately
