PRIMARY FUNCTION:

Responsible for managing existing customer relationships and soliciting new business within assigned region. Develop and implement plans to achieve pricing, mix and profit goals for Wayne Farms LLC.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:

  • Develop and implement strategic sales plan for assigned region.

  • Actively solicit new business and expand customer base within assigned region.

  • Build and maintain both operator and distributor customer relationships through customer visits, meetings, presentations, and other sales activities.

  • Effectively manage the sales mix to provide maximum profit margins.

  • Maintain an exceptional level of customer satisfaction among custom base.

  • Monitor and analyze sales growth for competitive opportunities within region.

  • Identify potential new products and collaborate on development with R&D, using Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system.

  • Collaborate with Credit/Collections to manage of customer deductions.

  • Manage brokers to blanket the region with products while accurately populating the AFS system so all spend is tracked, accounted for and spent to provide acceptable returns.

  • Hit New Product target numbers in assigned region thru placement into distributor sales.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • None. This is an individual contributor position. Competencies required: Functional/Technical Skills, Action Oriented, Problem Solving, Learning on the Fly and Interpersonal Savvy.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or related field from an accredited institution.
  • 3+ years' relevant experience in inside sales, customer service, sales support, or outside sales.

REQUIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS:

  • Demonstrated experience managing a broker/direct sales team to include trainings, sales plan objectives, and executing operating plan.

  • Demonstrated skills in independent decision-making and presenting recommendations to management.

  • Demonstrated ability to learn and apply sales techniques.

  • Knowledge of market strategies, budgets, pricing strategies and general economics.

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.

  • High work capacity, dependable, results oriented and strong sense of urgency.

  • Ability to work in fast paced environment with multiple priorities.

  • Excellent organizational skills, with precise attention to detail.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Demonstrated sound work ethic, high degree of personal integrity, honesty and moral character.

REQUIRED PROBLEM SOLVING SKILLS:

  • Demonstrated strong analytical, decision-making skills.

  • Ability to understand and interpret data while drawing logical conclusions based on available inputs.

  • Critical thinking skills in standardized situations as well as non-routine problems.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously and prioritize work accordingly.

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Successful completion of relevant Professional Sales Training.
  • 3+ years' direct experience within poultry and/or meat industry sales environment, with knowledge of fresh and further processing.
