The part time Food Service Attendant is an hourly position to work within the LFCC Foundation's Subway franchise and/or a caf kiosk that are both located on the Middletown, VA campus. Employee will prepare and serve fresh, nutritious food options. Subway training will be provided and additionally, training to provide superior customer service will be continuous. Work space shall be kept neat, clean and organized for patrons to easily find desired food or drink product(s), and to maintain a safe and healthy food service environment. Education shall be high school or equivalent, and preferably working towards their Associates. Employee shall be competent in using a cash register, possess proven customer service skills, and understand basic accounting and inventory principles. Hours are flexible and shall not exceed 29 hours per work week.

Required Experience

Prior Subway food service experience is preferred although not required.

Compensation and Benefits:

The compensation for the position is $8/hr, however, actual starting salary will commensurate with education and experience.

VIEW JOBS 12/4/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-03-04T00:00 The Workforce Customer Service / Event Coordinator will split their time between providing a high level of Customer Service to potential and existing students and coordinating Workforce Solutions Events such as the Disney Institute, Leadercast, Administrative Professionals Day and other external and internal events. Their primary focus will vary during different times of the year and require effective time management skills as well as the ability to handle multiple tasks when multiple events occur in proximity to one another. CUSTOMER SERVICE: Workforce Solutions offers classes and programs that help people start, enhance or change their career. The people who enter our office may be unemployed, underemployed, or fully employed and we must be listen and provide answers and/or resources to help them achieve their goals. This position will work closely with other Operations and Registration team members to provide a high level of Customer Service to those who reach out to us either via phone, the internet or in person. This position must become highly knowledgeable about Workforce Solutions classes and programs to help people meet their needs. Additionally, they will work with existing students who may have challenges or concerns and strive for beneficial solutions by providing the "second mile" of Customer Service. Now that many Workforce Solutions programs are eligible for financial assistance through the FastForward program and in some cases, the FANTIC (Need-based financial aid), they will be expected to explain the program to potential students. Once a student determines their interest and is ready to register, this position will either work with other WSCE Operations and Registration staff members or register individuals for classes. This will require them to develop a working knowledge of the Workforce Enterprise System (WES) and the various pay options and procedures. EVENT COORDINATION: Workforce Solutions hosts several high-profile training programs throughout the year including the Disney Institute, the Leadercast and Leadercast Women simulcast events, and the Administrative Professionals Day. This position will work directly with the event organizations to plan and coordinate contracts, work with WSCE programmers to plan the event, coordinate staff the day of the event and oversee debriefing for process improvement. They will also coordinate and help plan other smaller events, both internal and external working with vendors and other Workforce staff members to deliver memorable events. Other responsibilities for this position will include responding to visitor, student, instructor and staff inquiries in a timely and professional manner. This position will also monitor regular classes requiring catering or special requests and work with the the department procurement specialist to place the necessary order, monitor to be sure everything arrives as required and oversee the clean up and take down after the special event. This staff position is an integral part of the Workforce Solutions Operations and Registration team and as such will have other day-to-day administrative responsibilities as assigned in addition to strategic and functional projects including, but not limited to, answering phones, taking registrations, responding to internet inquiries, customer complaints, other customer communication, and supporting fellow team members. Required Skills Technical qualities: The successful candidate will either have or develop: * Ability to plan, negotiate with vendors, organize, and execute Workforce Solutions events; * Ability to assess skills, needs, interests, and aptitudes of potential students and provide personalized advice on available options; * Knowledge of the role of Workforce Solutions with the college and the services we provide to the community; * Knowledge of Workforce Solutions Classes, Series, and Career Changer programs that could benefit potential students; * Knowledge and understanding of various financial assistance options available to Workforce Solutions students; * Is able to organize projects and benefit from use of appropriate software and networking options; * An ability to manage a project from beginning to end and break it down into manageable components, communicate, and delegate to and with team members to meet time-sensitive projects, deliverables and deadlines; and, * Utilize Microsoft Office, the VCCS Workforce Enterprise System Software, and other productivity software to accomplish goals as well as possesses a working knowledge of the benefits and use of Social Media as it relates to their job responsibilities. Interpersonal skills sought: * Ability to multi-task; * Exhibit a high-degree of confidence when working with vendors on behalf of the WSCE program; * Ability to assess a situation or challenge, determine the variables and develop a process or solution to successfully meet a need with indirect or minimal supervision.
