Food Service Assistant III

POSITION DETAILS The Fullerton School District is seeking qualified individuals for a full-time position in the Nutrition Services Department to perform moderate level of food service skills. The Food Service Assistant III classification is typically assigned either to a primary lead role at a middle/jr. high school site or at the Nutrition Center leading specialized cooking, distribution, and food preparation functions under the general direction of a higher-level food service classification. The Food Service Assistant III works between 6 am

• 2:30 pm, 10.0 months/year, Monday through Friday. The current vacancy is an 8 hours/day, 5 days/week (Monday through Friday), 10.0 months/year position at the Nutrition Center.

  Equivalent to graduation from high school. Experience: Any combination of experience and training which would indicate possession of the knowledge and abilities listed, including at least four years of paid experience in school cafeteria and/or preparation of large food quantities in a nutrition center-type facility. Two years of successful experience as a Food Service Assistant II with Fullerton School District can be substituted for the above-mentioned four-year experience requirement. Licensure and Certification: -Valid Class C California Driver's License required

EXAMINATION PROCEDURES This is a merged promotional and open competitive recruitment. The examination may consist of a training and experience (supplemental responses) evaluation, written test, performance test, and/or structured oral interview.

To qualify to be placed on an eligibility list, a candidate must obtain a passing score on each part of the examination process. Final scores will be obtained by combining the relative weights of scores on each part of the examination.

If Veteran's credit is claimed, proof of status (DD214) must be submitted to the Classified Personnel Commission Office at the same time the application form is submitted or prior to testing. The life of the eligibility list will be twelve (12) months. The resulting eligibility list will be used to fill the current vacancy and future vacancies.

Date of Examination The date of the examination(s) will be announced at a later date. Candidates who are among the most qualified shall be notified via email, and/or telephone of the time, date and place of the examination(s).
