POSITION DETAILS The Fullerton School District is seeking experienced individuals for various Food Service Assistant I positions to help in preparing and serving of food in large quantities in the Nutrition Center, at a school in a serving kitchen, and/or in an area outside of the building. In addition, this position performs general duties related to food preparation, serving and cleaning.

HOURS & ADVANCEMENT OPPORTUNITIES This opportunity works a minimum of 2 hours/day during the school year. Individuals must be available to work between the hours of 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., Monday through Friday. Hours vary depending on assigned school site.

Once employed with the District, employees may become eligible for hours increases based on seniority in the position with some Food Service Assistants I positions scheduled up to 6 hours per day. Also, the District offers on-the-job training to help employees advance towards promotional opportunities as FSA II's leading an elementary site and working 6 hours a day, FSA III's leading a Jr. High site and working 8 hours a day, or Food Service Specialists leading a Central Kitchen Department working 8 hours a day.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE Education: Equivalent to completion of the tenth grade. Experience: Some paid or unpaid experience in food preparation and kitchen maintenance. License: Possession of a valid Class C California Driver's License.

EXAMINATION PROCEDURES,

This is a merged promotional and open competitive recruitment. The examination may consist of a training and experience (supplemental responses) evaluation, written test, performance test and/or structured oral interview.

To qualify to be placed on an eligibility list, a candidate must obtain a passing score on each part of the examination process. Final scores will be obtained by combining the relative weights of scores on each part of the examination.

If Veteran's credit is claimed, proof of status (DD214) must be submitted to the Classified Personnel Commission Office at the same time the application form is submitted or prior to testing. The life of the eligibility list will be six months. The resulting eligibility list will be used to fill future vacancies.

Date of Examination

The date of the examination(s) will be announced at a later date. Candidates who are among the most qualified shall be notified via email, and/or telephone of the time, date and place of the examination(s).
