Food Service Aide
UnityPoint Health- Proctor Campus
Shift: Full time 40 hrs per week 7A-3:30P
Assists in the preparation and distribution of food service to patients, employees and visitors.
Completes job responsibilities in dish room.
1.Soaks coffee cups and ice tea cups on Monday, Wednesday and Friday
2.Unloads patient food carts in a timely manner
3.Places all garbage in the disposal from patient trays
4.Assures that dishes are stacked and placed in dishwasher
5.Cleans and dries plates, glasses and silverware and retrieves them from the washer
6.Returns all plates, glasses and other utensils to the serving area for use at subsequent meals
7.Washes pots and pans used in preparation of food at a separate station from the dishwasher
8.Cleans shelves and other areas with disinfectant solution
9.Soaks the dishwasher twice a week with L.S.R. Solution
10. Responsible for general cleaning of the kitchen using a cleaning list that is posted on hallway bulletin board

7.Delivers safe and sanitary food to patients, cafeteria and special catered events
8.Maintains proper use of wearing gloves when handling food at all times
9.Wears hair restraints at all times in the food service area
Fulfills MMCI and department required education. The incumbent must fulfill department and MMCI required educational training in the following areas:

The Food Service Aide will work 50 % of the workday on the tray line.
1.Required to work rotating stations through the department and other duties as assigned by the Process Coordinator
2.Prepares and fills patient requests per position and station on tray line
3.Prepares and serves all items with "eye" appeal
4.Uses production tally sheets, to grant patient requests
5.Able to read the different menus provided to patients
6.Maintains proper use of gloves and wears them at all times when handling food products
7.Responsible for maintaining proper use of using utensils and portion sizes (#8 scoops, #12 scoops and ladles, and serving spoons).
8.Places the food or beverage selected on the patient's tray.
1.High School Diploma required.
1.1-3 years of experience in/with food service preferred.
