This position is responsible for the planning, directing and operation of a complex food service program. This includes the preparation, distribution and service of meals and modified diets for an inmate population in addition to staff. Also, the Administrator responsible for the supervision of staff and inmates, implementation of a modified diet program, maintenance of security, budgeting, safety and sanitation and the maintenance of supplies and service.

The Department of Corrections will conduct criminal background checks on applicants prior to selection. Upon hire, all new DOC employees are subject to fingerprinting. The Department may conduct pre-employment drug screens.
Any applicant who is offered employment in a position which requires a pre-employment drug screen must pass the screen as a contingency to employment. Applicants who fail or refuse the screening will not be given further consideration.
A minimally qualified applicant will have experience in:
Planning, development and operation of a large scale food production/program (i.e. menu development, cost control, purchasing, coordination of deliveries, resolving issues, etc.) serving over 500-1500 per meal each day.
Leadership or supervision experience (e.g. assigning, coordinating, directing the work of others, developing and or providing training, etc.)
Food preparation, nutrition, quality assessment/evaluation (including modified and/or medically restricted diets).
