Job Purpose and Impact
The Food Safety Regulatory Supervisor will oversee employees in the organization's regulatory affairs function to ensure compliance with governmental regulations and standards. In this role, you will collect information on organizational products and craft regulatory submissions. You will also build and execute quality systems to help assure customers that products are defect free and safe.
Key Accountabilities
Lead employees that collect information on products and draft regulatory submissions and craft documents and presentations for meetings with regulatory authorities.
Track pending changes in the regulatory environment to allow for efficient organizational response to new legislation.
Interact and negotiate with regulatory agencies in order to expedite approval of pending registration and answer any questions.
Lead team to develop, implement and maintain inspection procedures and programs designed to improve deficiencies and ensure compliance with existing laws, regulations, licenses, permits and ordinances.
Keep current on specific requirements imposed by government agencies through reading of the statutes, regulations, licenses and permits.
Other duties as assigned
Responsible for personnel decisions related to hiring, performance and disciplinary actions for your direct reports. You will also spend time completing the same tasks as employees on your team.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
Minimum one year of directly related work experience
Able and willing to work occasionally weekends and some holidays.
Able and willing to work second or third shift if necessary.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in applied sciences (microbiology, physics, chemistry, etc.)
Advanced computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Word, Access, PowerPoint, Excel)
One year of supervisory experience
Strong project management experience.

Position Information
Compensation
The expected salary for this position is $76,000 - $86,000. This position is eligible for a discretionary incentive award. The incentive award amount is dependent upon company performance and your personal performance.
