As a Food Safety Manager, your pivotal role is to safeguard our Cary, NC plant by meticulously overseeing the development, compliance, and certification of food safety programs. You'll collaborate closely with the Quality and Food Safety Team, ensuring seamless execution of company initiatives. In this role you will have multiple direct reports and will report into the site Quality and Food Safety Manager. Our shared passion for the future is fortified by the practical steps you'll take to uphold the highest standards of safety and quality.
Your responsibilities extend across the entire site. You'll lead food safety training initiatives, collaborating closely with the entire plant to elevate our standards. Your critical role also involves maintaining audit readiness, ensuring compliance with FDA regulations, and impressing external and internal auditors. A Taste of What You'll Be Doing
We're Looking for Someone With
Bachelor's degree in food science, microbiology, and/or GED or Hight school diploma and 5+ years of food manufacturing experience in quality & food safety
HACCP certified, SQF Practitioner and PCQI certified or ability to obtain certification within 6 months of starting role
Extensive knowledge of applicable regulations, including GMP and food safety standards in accordance with the FDA, USDA and CFIA
Strong auditing and assessment skills with strong technical and software knowledge
People and process management experience
Strong written & verbal communication skills as well as proven ability to work well independently and as a member of a team.
